We recently gather for our annual Thanksgiving lunch and it was nothing short of amazing. From delicious food to laughter and connection, the day was filled with the spirit of gratitude. We're thankful to our incredible staff who helped our individuals and friends come together this season. We proved once again that the TruCare family is stronger when we gather in gratitude.

The holiday season might be magical but often comes with it's own set of stress and worries. Here's a quick guide on how to develop your own Mental Health Toolkit to make it through the tough parts of the season.

Reflect on what grounds you: What helps you feel safe, calm, or supported? What activities or tools have helped you cope in the past?
Choose your Core Categories: Do you prefer soothing tools that calm your nervous system? Or mood boosters that lift your spirits? Maybe you need grounding techniques to help you stay present.
Gather your tools: If you can, include a mix of digital and physical items like a journal and pen, headphones for music or meditation, a scented candle or lotion you like, even a written list of coping skills.
Make it accessible: Keep your toolkit close by, in a small box, bag, or on your phone. Make it easy to reach any time you need.
Personalize: Add seasonal touches like cozy, warm socks, holiday scents, or tasty treats.
Keep growing: Revisit your toolkit every few months and update as your needs change.
