It takes courage to seek help for your mental health—and too often, people wait an average of 11 years between symptoms and treatment. That’s far too long, and why your support matters.

At NAMI Southwest Ohio NAMIWalks 2026, we step into something bigger than ourselves—becoming hope-givers for individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges. Every step and every dollar raised supports NAMI’s life-changing programs, education, and services.

CCBH will walk together as a team on May 9th at 10am at Sawyer Point, united in purpose and driven by possibility. Join us in showing what community care looks like in action!

Together, we are NAMIWalks.

We lost a true champion for mental health last night.

Liz Bonis Local 12 News wasn't someone who treated behavioral health as a sidebar or an afterthought—she brought it into the mainstream conversation, again and again, with courage and conviction.

Liz was a fierce advocate who didn't just talk about breaking the stigma around mental health. She lived it. She saw a need in our community and chose to act, giving voice to stories that needed to be heard and shining a light where others looked away.

For us, she was a real partner. She understood the work we do with our clients—truly understood it. The people we serve who were featured on her show didn't just get airtime; they grew stronger. They felt seen. That's the kind of impact Liz made.

Her legacy lives on in every conversation about mental wellness that happens a little more openly because of her work.

Rest in peace, Liz. Thank you for everything.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health touches every part of life—from housing and work to relationships and community. When challenges arise, they often intersect with everything, making whole-person care that addresses both essential to lasting recovery and well-being.

This is at the heart of Central Clinic Behavioral Health’s mission: to create options and choices through compassionate approaches to behavioral health services that foster recovery and resiliency for children, adults, families, and communities. By offering care that is compassionate, individualized, and integrated, we help people build stability, strength, and hope across all areas of life.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, this connection is especially important as we are reminded of the value of support, access, and understanding in creating more good days—for every person, family, and community we serve. SAMHSA

Kimberly Mages, President and CEO and Barbara Bergan, Chief Development and Program Officer, were proud to join the Mental Health & Addiction Advocacy Coalition - MHAC Southwest Hub gathering at Cooper Creek Event Center for a powerful morning of connection, collaboration, and shared commitment to strengthening behavioral health across our region.

Bringing together public officials, providers, and community leaders, this event highlighted what’s possible when we work collectively to expand access to care and support the well-being of individuals and families. We were especially moved by the personal story shared by Julie Dietrich, a reminder of the life-changing impact of peer support, opportunity, and hope.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to prioritize meaningful dialogue and action in behavioral health. Thank you to MHAC for convening such an impactful event—we’re honored to be part of this work.
