💙 Feeling the love for our amazing team! 💙

We’re so grateful for this kind feedback from one of our families:

✨ “Dr. Oliveira is always amazing. Dr. Wales, the resident doctor, and the dietitian were also wonderful. I really appreciate the way they interact with families and patients. Their kindness, patience, and professionalism truly make a difference, and I felt very well cared for by all of them.” ✨

Huge shoutout to our incredible physicians, trainees, and dietitians for showing up every day with compassion, teamwork, and heart. This is what patient-centered care looks like! 🙌💫

Our first Cincinnati Children’s dedicated helicopter is coming in early 2026! As kids are at the heart of all that we do, we’re looking for them to help name the helicopter.

This service will improve access for children who need care from Cincinnati Children’s. Now, it needs a name that’s just as special!

Open now through Jan. 4, full contest rules and entry can be found at the link in the comments.

For Stephanie Oliveira, being a pediatrician isn’t just a job; it was a calling and something she had dreamed about since she was a little girl. Born and raised in Brazil, Stephanie worked with children as a piano teacher while she attended medical school.

Congratulations to Andre on your well-deserved retirement! 🎉

Enjoy some fun, nostalgic and looking ahead questions we've ask Andre about his time here at Cincinnati Children's:

🌟 What’s the strangest or funniest thing you ever saw happen at work?
An adult patient came to the research clinic via Uber from his hotel but left a duffle bag with his medical supplies in the car. The Uber driver was irritated about being requested to return to CCHMC so the bag could be retrieved. The driver would not give up the bag unless we paid him money. Thankfully CCHMC security stepped in and the driver relinquished the bag.

🌟 How has the company changed the most since you started?
During my employment the increase in the CCHMC footprint is astounding. I have witnessed the building of Location D and the visitor parking garage, location A, S, T, G, the conversion of Mt. Vernon hotel, opening of the Mason and Liberty locations as well as the satellite clinics throughout the region.

🌟 What accomplishment here are you most proud of?
Two things—In my small way I played a part in moving forward research related to liver /intestinal disease and liver transplantation. I was also part of the steering committee that established what is now the Clinical Research Professional group at CCHMC that provides resources for the development of research coordinators.

🌟 What moment made you think, “Yes, this is where I belong”?
I realized quickly that the majority of our patients are long term patients and we get to know them well --almost like family. This provided a more personal connection to our research participants compared to one-off interactions. Also, I am amazed at the willingness of families to engage in research even if the research would not benefit their child directly. A common phrase noted by parents when enrolling in a research study was "if it might help someone else in the future".

🌟 What’s the first thing you plan to do on your first official “day off”?
My hobby is woodworking and I look forward to spending more time in my woodshop.

🌟 What will you miss the most about working here?
I have been very fortunate to work with many skilled and dedicated CRC's that I can confidently say are also my friends.

🌟 Do you have a bucket list item you’re excited to tackle in retirement?
Jen and I want to travel to New Zealand and visit National Parks across the US.

Andre, Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment have made a lasting impact on our team and everyone you’ve worked with. Thank you for the many years of hard work, leadership, and heart.

Wishing you joy, relaxation, and exciting new adventures in this next chapter. You’ve earned every moment! 🛣️
