How do you continue to honor your relationship with yourself? Are there ways that you self abandon? Can you witness this within yourself and your habits without passing judgement? Can you have self accountability without demonizing past versions of you? Can you send the past version of you some love and patience?

These questions have been swirling in my mind 🤍

Daily practice ✨

I’ve been asked a lot about my daily practice and for me, it doesn’t always look the same. Like life, the way I show up is ever changing.

Movement is something that happens for me almost daily. Either a yoga practice, walking in the woods with my dog, stretching, going to the gym, dancing. Sometimes the movement I get, is just showing up to teach- and that’s ok.

I also look to fueling my body properly, appreciating simple moments and alone time to journal, have a coffee or care for myself.

Yoga shows up in many ways other than the physical asana. What does your daily practice look like?

New moon in Pisces mood board ✨

If you’ve been to my classes in the past, you know how I often incorporate current astrological energy into the practice. This week in class, we will be honoring the new moon in the sign of Pisces.

Heart openers and hip openers to encourage creative flow, self love and expression. This energy is dreamy and romantic. How can you romanticize your day, honor your childlike wonder, and love deeper in your relationships? Mainly, the one with yourself. See you in class ✨🤍

Why does my back hurt? Part 2 💕

We are focusing on the hips and the deep core. Sometimes back pain requires strengthening along with alleviating tension. LMK if you have this a try!

Reflecting ✨🦋

As I am in my 10th year teaching this practice, I have been reflecting on baby yoga teacher Brittany. I’ve been remembering how excited and nervous I was. Hoping that I was a “good enough” yogi to teach and guide people.

Since then, I’ve learned a lot, my personal practice has evolved and even paused at times. I’ve changed teaching locations, met amazing people, including my best friends. I’ve traveled the world, gotten my heart broken, failed, grieved, and have felt intense moments of joy and gratitude.

My confidence as a teacher and student, continues to grow and also be challenged. I have been humbled over and over again, while also learning to value and trust myself. And proudly, I continue to lead with my heart.

Thank you to this practice, for it is a gift. Thank you to my body and soul for choosing this life, what a gift. If our paths have crossed because of this practice, thank you, you are a gift 🙏🤍

Restart, learn and grow-yet again ✨

Writing an inspirational blurb about the beauty of starting fresh and trying again just doesn’t seem appropriate or completely honest. In truth, restarting and finding motivation continues to be difficult and humbling.

Past ideas and habits just don’t work anymore. I’ve outgrown them and they are holding me back. Even though they feel comfy and familiar. Along with that, wounds from the past. It’s not easy and definitely not always pretty.

I am not writing this to glorify my own experience. I’m aware that it’s not an original life lesson. Not even for me. I just happen to be experiencing a version of it at this time.

The theme is honesty. Being honest about what I really want for myself, how I want to show up as a teacher and student, and the work that it will take to achieve it. While also remembering the younger version of myself while I do it. Not to place pressure on myself, but to remember her joy. And remembering the joy I feel when I am teaching.

Even though I feel scared and nervous, I am also excited and determined to start fresh and create something new for myself, my students and peers. Thank you for your support and trusting me as a fellow student and teacher. I look forward to seeing you in class 🤍
