TSBDF Dinner & a Movie
Viewing of "Dismissed"
Monday, December 8th
Theater

Registration will take place at 5:30 p.m.
Dinner and the viewing will follow starting at 6 p.m.

The documentary, "Dismissed" focuses on the challenges women face with bleeding disorders like hemophilia, particularly the delayed diagnoses and inadequate treatment resulting from gender bias in medicine. The film follows the stories of several women, including a pregnant mother, a paralyzed woman, and a young advocate, highlighting the lack of understanding, treatment gaps, and misdiagnoses they have experienced.

Isabelle, the young advocate from Ohio who is featured in the film, will be in attendance to talk about her journey of living with a bleeding disorder.

This program is presented by Sanofi.

This program is for all bleeding disorder patients, caregivers and their immediate family members living in the same household.

Childcare will not be provided.

Join us for dinner and a movie! This event is open to all bleeding disorder patients, caregivers, and immediate family members.

Millions of Americans depend on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for health insurance, over 26 million people, including many living with chronic conditions.

Right now, Congress is at a standstill whether to keep the tax credits that make this coverage affordable. Let’s be clear- this isn’t about refusing to compromise, it’s about ensuring that Americans are protected. Without these tax credits, insurance premiums will skyrocket, and many families will no longer be able to afford care.

What’s Changing:
Low-Income Special Enrollment (for people under 150% of the poverty line) ends August 25, 2025.
DACA recipients will lose Marketplace coverage that same day.
Some lawfully present immigrants will lose tax credit eligibility in 2026.
People who earn more than expected will have to repay all extra tax credits, with no repayment limit.
Plans may require payment of old premiums before reenrollment.
Auto-enrollment rules are changing, and some fees will apply.

Important Dates:
Nov 1: Open Enrollment begins
Dec 15: Last day to choose a plan for Jan 1 coverage
Dec 31: Last day to cancel unwanted auto-enrollment
Jan 15: Open Enrollment ends

What You Should Do:
Update your contact info on HealthCare.gov and with your insurance company.
Don’t auto-enroll without checking your 2026 premium, prices will change.
Turn off auto-pay until you confirm your new premium.
Cancel coverage by Dec 31 if you don’t want to be charged in January.
Log in again before Jan 15 to check if tax credits are extended or if plans change.

Call or email your Senators and Representatives today, tell them to protect ACA tax credits and keep health insurance affordable for all Americans.

If you have been affected by this lapse, please reach out to your HTC social worker for assistance. TSBDF is providing Kroger gift cards that the social workers will distribute to patients on the SNAP program as needed.
