My official update:
Hello! I’ve missed you all so much and I know that some of you are eager EAGER to get back to “normal” and to appointments with me. I'm eager too!
So, here is how we can work together to make that happen.
New Procedures due to Covid 19
This is a bit lengthy yet all important. If you have any questions when you are done reading please PLEASE feel free to call, email or text me with those and we can discuss them.
Here in Cincinnati, and in Ohio in general, our cases are on the lower end of the spectrum for a city this large and I am also closely watching them. That is mostly in part to the incredible guidance we have had from our Governor and from Dr Amy Acton. There is always going to be some risk, even with all precautions and we all know this. Catching the virus is all about exposure and time and we spend quite a while in a space together. So here is how we will work together for the near future.
Things You Can Expect From Me
The window in the room will be left open quite a bit for increased air circulation. This is important, and unless freezing cold most likely expect it. Luckily with us entering summer, that won't be an issue.
I am getting a HEPA filter for the treatment room.
A clean blanket and clean sheets etc. will be used for every single client.
Table fleece heater pad and fleece face rest cover will be removed, and a different table barrier and face rest covers will be used that can either be disinfected/sanitized or disposed of.
Every possible surface in and around the treatment room and office will be cleaned after each client with an EPA certified cleaner/disinfectant.
Plus, my office will have a detailed cleaning at the end of the day. Pillows will sound a little “crunchy” as they will be covered with a plastic barrier under the pillowcase that can be sprayed down after each client.
Sheets will only be brought into room for the appointment at the time. No more storage of linens under the table.
I will be changing clothing in between each client.
Appointments will have much more time in between- closer to an hour now, as that process becomes more second nature maybe less. Also, for now I am limiting the number of appointments I will take each day, and those times of availability might also be different. Please be understanding of this, and it will be temporary.
As always, I will wash my hands before and after each client. It is possible I might use nitrile gloves - they are undetectable by recipient; I've already experimented with this. ( provided I can acquire them- one of the issues we are all having is acquiring necessary PPE and cleaning supplies) Also, they are latex free in case people have allergies. If you have a problem with gloves, let's talk.
I will not be doing any intraoral work at this time.
Any facial work will also be limited, and we will have to talk about this as well.
I am also not having the cleaning staff of the building come in to take out trash as I don't want anyone entering the space after I have disinfected.
Things I will need from you.
If you are immune compromised ( or live with someone who is) and would still like your session, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I am hoping to take those appointments first thing in the day. When the environment is the absolute most clean.
Please DO NOT COME EARLY for your appointment. If you end up early, please know you will have to sit in your car and wait for me to contact you. This enables me time to make sure everything has been cleaned and has dried properly and the particles can settle that might be in the air before I bring you in.
I have checked with landlord and although they clean the bathrooms they only as of now, are doing them Monday , Wednesday and Friday night, so if you must use the bathroom, either have sanitizer to use afterwards on your hands, or I will have some when you enter my space which I will be asking you to use before our session.
If you have been out running errands in public, I ask that you come in a clean set of clothing before you enter my office setting. We are all in this together!
If you suspect that you are sick, or that you might be getting sick, of any type- please do not come in. Same goes for anyone in your household or if anyone you are in very close contact with is or feels even slightly sick. Even if it is not Covid.
If you have been positively diagnosed with Covid, but are recovered, I ask that you wait 30 days after you are symptom free before you get your massage. This is per Ohio medical board and ABMP suggestions.
Every client is to be wearing a mask for sessions. If you do not have one, I will be able to provide you one for $2.
You wear a mask to protect me, and I wear one to protect you. Hopefully no one who comes is sick, but the reality is that people are known to be asymptomatic or have not developed symptoms.
My goal is to mitigate all risk factors as much as I possibly can. Each thing may not be perfect, but when combined with multiple procedures, the synergistic effect proves to be very effective.
Lastly, be aware that if someone comes into my effect that develops Covid 19 symptoms, I will have to close at a moment's notice and quarantine at least two weeks. At that point everyone in the office around that client’s time, will be notified with a phone call from me to be informed. I will also be cancelling appointments for the following two weeks.
If you develop any symptoms and have been in my office in the past week or two, please notify me as soon as possible. Very important to stop the spread.
When you come into the office
Call or text me from your car, letting me know you have arrived please.
Please leave anything in your car that you will not need extra into the office.
Immediately go to the bathroom to wash your hands.
If you are not already wearing a mask, let me know before you come in that you will need one before you enter my treatment room.
I will do phone intake with you by phone before your appointment, (each time) and I am also working on a waiver that I ask you to please sign (one time). This will most likely be in email form.
I will ask when you enter my office you go directly to the treatment room and get ready for your massage, as much as I'd like to chit chat and catch up on the couch in my front room, it is not doable right now.
I will also be asking for contactless payment. Please set up Venmo if you do not already have it. If you must use square, I will be adding a contactless square processing fee. If you prefer to pay in cash, I ask that you have it in a sealed envelope already ready. Checks will also be the same. Please have them filled out ahead of time.
At the moment, I will not be providing Thai massage on the mat on the floor, I can do modified Thai on the table, if that is what you are looking for please let me know when we talk to set up your appointment. That is a clothed option and a great choice during this time.
Please, if you have questions that I have not addressed, concerns or suggestions, I want you to please feel free to contact me! Let me know your thoughts, your worries, all of it.
We will get there.
My goal is to have some openings beginning the second week of June, I am working on a few things that must be worked out to make that happen. I am waiting on supplies that are backordered and very hard to acquire but are required for me to open. As soon as that happens, I will be ready to go. I will reach back out to you the minute I put openings on my books.
I miss you all so much, we will get there! Hoping to see your faces very soon!
With utmost respect, sincerity and care,
Jodie Beth Linver, LMT
