Last week, we met with Hamilton County, Ohio - Government Denise Driehaus and Mary Maune from Hamilton County Commission on Women and Girls to discuss issues that matter most to moms and families — including access to stable housing.

We're so grateful for our partnership with Hamilton County, which began with the late County Commissioner Todd Portune, and their commitment to supporting moms, babies and families throughout our community.

Looking forward to continued partnership in 2026 and beyond!

The safest way for your baby to sleep is in their own bed, but that doesn't have to mean far from you. 💛

Room sharing with a crib, bassinet or pack 'n play beside your bed gives you peace of mind knowing your baby is close by and safe.

Let's talk about safe sleep! Here's what to know for every nap time and nighttime:

✔️ Always place your baby on their back for sleep
✔️ In a crib, Pack 'n Play, or bassinet
✔️ Nothing but baby in the sleep space
✔️ Use PJs or a sleep sack for warmth

Following these steps helps keep your baby safe. You've got this!

Throwback to September, when our team was in Columbus for the 3rd Annual Infant Vitality Advocacy Day!

Coordinated by First Year Cleveland and supported by CelebrateOne and Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality, we joined advocates from 30+ organizations, all working towards the same goal of more first birthdays.

Together, we met with state legislators to highlight priorities important to families — including maternal mental health and economic stability — to ensure all pregnant and parenting families have what they need to thrive.

Queens Village Cincinnati brought together moms for an evening filled with self-care, connection, movement and dance. We love being be able to create spaces like this where Black moms feel supported and welcomed.

Traveling with your baby this week? Here are a few safe sleep tips to keep in mind:

✅ Make sure your baby has their own safe sleep space wherever you go. When staying in someone else’s home, bring a safety-approved portable crib, Pack ‘n Play or bassinet.

✅ Always place your baby on their back for every sleep — nighttime and naptime.

🚫 Babies should never share a bed or other sleep surface with another person. Bed-sharing increases the risk of sleep-related infant death.

✅ Share these tips with anyone who will be caring for your baby.

Not sure if your crib or bassinet is safety-approved? Check cpsc.gov before you travel.

What an amazing gathering we had at the Cradling Cincinnati Summit one month ago! In total, we had more than 200 partners and 37 presenters come together from across the city, the state and beyond — with Tracie D. Hall delivering a powerful keynote.

Thank you to everyone who presented, contributed or came to connect and learn.

Building a future where all babies thrive takes all of us, and this gathering showed us the strength of our collective work.

We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with The Mitchell Daughters Foundation in supporting moms and babies across Hamilton County.

Their recent donation will help expand access to doula services — non-clinical emotional, physical and educational support during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.

As one mom shared: "Having a doula was an incredible experience. I felt safe, heard and empowered to have the birth experience I wanted and needed."

Thanks to their support, more women will have now have access to doula care. 💜

A loving space with dinner, childcare and a little self-care — that's what you can expect at Queens Village Mommy Meet Ups. 💜

Launched in October, this weekly series welcomes Black moms from all across Hamilton County to slow down, connect and build community.

Each gathering includes a self-care activity, from gentle yoga and sound bowl healing to DIY creations like custom tea blends and body butters. And to make sure every mom is supported, a community health worker is on site to help connect moms to the resources they need.

There's still time to join! Mommy Meet Ups continue in person through December. Black moms who are pregnant or have a child under the age of one are invited to join.
