Each year, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade asks us to pause, not in celebration, but in remembrance.
For those of us who work in abortion care every day, the recognition can feel hollow. We live with the consequences of Roeβs fall not as an anecdote but as a daily reality for the patients we serve and the communities we support.
Still, this moment matters. Remembering where we came from reminds us why we cannot become complacent. Roe was a milestone, but it was never the finish line. It left many people, especially those facing systemic barriers, without the meaningful access they deserved. We honor its passage not by idealizing it, but by acknowledging the work that remains.
Today, the fight continues. Together, we can move forward with clarity and determination. We can build something stronger, more equitable, and more just than Roe ever was.
