With heavy hearts, we announce the recent passing of retired Navy Commander and former Joseph House Director Bill Malone.

Bill served 22 years in the U.S. Navy and later joined Joseph House in the 1990s, where he helped guide our organization’s growth from an overnight shelter into a comprehensive treatment facility. He also played a role in arranging a visit to Joseph House from then–Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Bill often said, “Kindness is the mightiest force in the world.” We are deeply grateful for Bill’s service to our country and his lasting impact on our organization.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. While Bill has already been laid to rest, condolences and information on making a memorial gift can be found on the funeral home’s website here: https://www.springgroveobituaries.org/obituaries/William-T-Malone?obId=46346658.
