✨ Celebrating Black History 365 ✨

Willard R. Stargel, Jr. broke barriers as one of the first Black athletes at the University of Cincinnati, paving the way for future generations in sports and education. A dedicated educator, his impact extended beyond the field, shaping young minds and inspiring excellence. His legacy lives on at Taft High School, where the football stadium proudly bears his name—Willard Stargell Stadium—a tribute to his contributions to athletics and the community.

Stargel is buried in Spring Grove, Section 132, Lot 1077.

🎉 Community Spotlight 🎉
This week, Spring Grove Funeral Homes, Thompson, Hall and Jordan Funeral Home, and Spring Grove Cemetery proudly donated $2,000 to Lemaster’s Annual Coat Drive — a heartfelt initiative supporting local kids right here in Cincinnati. 🧥❤️

Every year, this incredible drive raises funds to purchase brand new coats for children in need. Not gently used — brand new. Because while warmth is essential, pride and dignity matter too. There’s something special about receiving a coat that’s truly yours.

This year, the goal is ambitious: 2,000 coats! And since the drive began in 2009, over $500,000 worth of coats have been donated. That’s thousands of kids who’ve felt the warmth — inside and out.

We’re honored to be part of such a meaningful mission. Let’s keep the momentum going and help even more children stay warm this winter. 💙
