Today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, compassion, and leadership of the incredible women who make our community stronger every day.💚

At PAAC, we are grateful for the women who inspire change at every level — from the teens in Roots of Change who are finding their voices and standing up for healthier futures, to the dedicated volunteers and leaders working tirelessly to support recovery, prevention, and hope across Pickaway County.

Your courage, resilience, and commitment remind us that real change happens when women lift each other up and lead with purpose.💚

Today and every day, we honor the women who advocate, mentor, serve, and inspire the next generation. Together, we are building stronger families, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

Ending the sale of all flavored to***co products – including flavored e-ci******es, menthol ci******es and flavored ci**rs – is critical to preventing youth to***co use and creating the first to***co-free generation. There is a growing movement by policymakers at all levels to prohibit the sale of flavored to***co products.

Women face unique mental health challenges throughout life. Often, they’re expected to balance careers, tend to family responsibilities, and act as caregivers, all while navigating the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy, the postpartum period, dealing with depression, or managing mental health during menopause.

In 2025, PAAC reintroduced our youth leadership program with a powerful new name: Roots of Change — because that’s exactly what these students are. They are grounded, resilient, and growing into leaders who are making a real impact right now.

Roots of Change brings together student leaders from all four Pickaway County high schools who are passionate about creating positive change. These Youth Ambassadors are stepping up in big ways — encouraging healthy choices, leading prevention efforts, representing PAAC at community events, and having important conversations with peers and community leaders alike.

The future isn’t something they’re waiting on — they’re building it.💚

If you have a high schooler interested in getting involved with Roots of Change, visit drugfreepickaway.com/youth-coalition/ to learn more and apply!

March is a new month—and a new opportunity to protect the health of our youth in Pickaway County.

🚫 Va**ng is not harmless.
Many vapes contain high levels of ni****ne, addictive chemicals, and can impact brain development, mood, and attention in teens.

🍺 Underage drinking and drug use can affect decision-making, school performance, and long-term health—and increase the risk of addiction later in life.

💬 Parents, caregivers, and community members—your voice matters. Start the conversation early. Set clear expectations. Stay involved.

PAAC is here to support prevention, education, and recovery in our community.

If you need help or resources for a young person or family:
• Call or text 988 for mental health or substance use support
• Reach out to local prevention and treatment services in Pickaway County

Together, we can keep our kids safe, informed, and healthy.💚
