In lieu of the current Equine Herpes EHV-1 out break we just wanted our horsey friends to rest assured that we value their safety and health.
Because of this we will be taking extra precautions disinfecting equipment, boots and hands between appointments, bringing fresh scrubs to change into between barns, and utilizing latex gloves for any oral releases.
Having had experience managing barns through various outbreaks and working as an assistant in the veterinary field we suggest always insuring proper quarantine protocols to avoid infections.
All new horses coming from off property should be temped twice a day for a minimum of two-three weeks. As a reminder normal equine body temp for horses is 100.5 degrees F. It is also handy to take temperatures on a normal basis to figure out your horses normal temperature range.
Please contact us to reschedule your upcoming appointment your horse is showing signs of lethargy, fever, congestion, neurological symptoms, etc.
Best of luck to everyone out there! Be safe and have fun!
