When Body and Baby Align: Supporting Pelvic Engagement
Did you know that most babies naturally move head-down by around 36 weeks and begin settling into the pelvis as birth approaches?
And… sometimes they need a little loving support. 💛
If this isn’t your first pregnancy, or if you’ve noticed your baby floating, flipping, or feeling heavy out front, this blog is especially for you.
👀 Some signs your baby may need extra support engaging in the pelvis:
• People commenting you “look like you’re having twins” (when you’re not)
• Baby resting on your lap when you sit
• Increased back pain late in pregnancy
• Baby changing positions frequently after 35 weeks
• Going overdue
• Being told you have diastasis recti
✨ The good news? There is a simple, effective solution.
In this blog, I share:
🤍 Why this happens (especially in later pregnancies)
🤍 How abdominal tone and support affect baby’s position
🤍 Why keeping baby up in your body helps them settle down into the pelvis
🤍 How proper belly support can encourage optimal positioning
🤍 Midwife-tested tips to help prevent breech, transverse, or stalled labor
After 26+ years as a midwife, I’ve seen how small, informed adjustments can prevent big complications — and help families avoid unnecessary interventions or C-sections when a natural birth was possible.
Your body was designed for birth.
Your baby wants to align.
Sometimes they just need the right support. 🌿
