The pollen is terrible right now! Just look at all that yellow behind this bottle! 🤧🌼

But this little bottle has been in my pocket all day and I haven’t had to come inside once to take my contacts out because of itchy, swollen eyes. That alone is a big win for me! I’ve sneezed a few times, but nothing like I normally would this time of year without my goldenrod and nettle.

Chickweed is one of those little plants that many people overlook, but it’s actually packed with wonderful medicinal benefits. It’s commonly used as a soothing and cooling remedy for the skin. Chickweed is known for its anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and itch relieving properties, making it especially helpful for irritated skin, rashes, eczema and minor cuts or scrapes.

One of the reasons I love chickweed so much is how cooling and calming it feels when applied to the skin. It helps take the heat and irritation out of inflamed areas, which is exactly why I include chickweed in my bug bite balm. It works beautifully to help soothe itchy bites and calm that irritated, “on fire” feeling that bug bites can bring.

Chickweed can also be used in salves, poultices and even teas. It can also be used to support the lymphatic system and help the body gently detox, but most people know and love it for how incredible it is for skin care.

Nature always seems to provide exactly what we need, often right under our feet.

Hi everyone! I’ve had quite a few new followers lately, so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself again. My name is Stephanie, the heart and hands behind Ivey Homestead. 🌿

For many years I’ve been growing and foraging herbs and plants to use medicinally. What started as a passion for natural wellness has grown into creating products for others to enjoy and benefit from as well. I make elderberry syrup, fire cider, herbal salves, teas, tinctures and tallow products made from locally sourced grass-fed and finished beef. Every product is carefully crafted in small batches and tested before it is ever offered.

I do also work another job remotely each day, so sometimes I’m a little slow to respond to messages or comments. Please know I will always reply as soon as I can. Thank you for your patience. I truly am a one-woman show and every single order means the world to me.

My goal and passion is helping others support their health naturally. I truly believe God has provided so many wonderful plants and resources to help care for our bodies and I love sharing that knowledge with others.

A little about my personal life, I’m a wife to an amazing, supportive husband and a mama to two wonderful boys (17 and 14) who keep us busy and make life so full. Family means everything to me! 🫶🏻

Thank you so very much for your support Saturday at the Maplesville Spring Fling! Whether you made a purchase or simply stopped by to say hello, it truly meant so much to me. We had such a wonderful day and I’m so grateful for this amazing community.

A huge thank you to the event organizers for always putting together such a great event. It’s always such a fun day for everyone involved!

And lastly, but definitely not least, a big thank you to my sweet, beautiful sisters. They spent the whole week helping me label bottles, load and unload the vehicle, set up, tear down and do anything else I needed. Their love and support mean the world to me and I truly couldn’t have done Saturday without them.

Needless to say, yesterday was definitely a rest day for all three of us!

I had to stop and snap this picture on the way to drop Carter off at school this morning. There’s just something about the fog mixed with spiderwebs covered in dew that makes them pop. It has the moodiest, most beautiful feel to it.

I truly enjoy all the little details in nature… as long as those spiders keep their distance from me of course! 😂
