Sometimes you just have to set the orders aside, leave the emails unanswered for a little while and go take a quiet night ride. My honey knows me better than anyone. He could tell I needed a moment to just breathe and relax. The night air, the stillness, right before the rain… it was exactly what my heart needed.

When your kid has baseball practice before the crack of dawn (and no, I will not be sharing my thoughts on that 🤣) you just go ahead and accept that you’re starting the day way earlier than the sun.
Lavender whipped tallow was already made before sunrise 💜 Next up: lemon whipped tallow before I log on for work. If I’m up this early, I might as well be productive!

Who’s ready for SPRING?! Because I sure am!

I was walking around the yard this morning and spotted my very first daffodil in bloom and it instantly made my whole day. There is just something about that bright little pop of yellow that screams new beginnings and sunshine ahead.
Longer days, warmer air, green grass and a yard full of life again. I’m so ready! 🌿 🌼

🚨 EMERGENCY FAMILY MEETING 🚨

I need everyone to immediately report to the comments and help me convince my husband that this right here NEEDS to be filled with chickens.
I have deeply missed having a yard full of feathered chaos ever since our whole flock was taken out by dogs last summer 😭 It just hasn’t been the same around here without the clucking, crowing and random eggs in unexpected places.
If enough of y’all rally behind me and apply the appropriate amount of peer pressure, he just might come home with a truck bed full of chickens.
And let’s be honest… I prefer chickens over cut flowers any day. They lay breakfast. Flowers just sit there looking pretty 🤣

I’ve been told that if I had lived in the 1400–1800s, I probably would’ve been burned or hanged at the stake for doing what I do today.

Instead, I get to freely practice herbalism, learn from God’s creation and help others using remedies made from the very plants I grow and forage right here on my own land. And that’s not something I take lightly 🌿

What was once feared is now a blessing and I’m so grateful I get to walk in it openly and share what truly works.

Wanna know what makes an herbalist cry? Dropping and breaking a jar that’s been sitting for 8 weeks, slowly macerating in all the good stuff… ready to strain.

Literally cried.

That one jar would’ve filled at least 32 bottles of chamomile glycerite.
