EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Everyone meet Jacqueline (Jackie) Hall. Hatley Health Care and Rehabilitation has been blessed to have Jackie employed for 35 YEARS. Jackie is known for her hard work, her loyalty, her strong work ethic, her humble spirit, and for singing gospel songs as she walks from one unit to another to assist with caring for our residents. Jackie said that she is so appreciative of her job at Hatley's and how her position over the years allowed her to be present in her son's life, in allowing her to care for her dad, and during her own health issues. Jackie is definitely one in a million, and the Administrator Lance Bolding even said Hatley's would not be the same without Jackie and her love and compassion for our residents. Thank you, Jackie, for being a role model for each and every employee at Hatley Health Care. We love you!

🎉 Our First 75 Stories of Care Submission! 🎉

Meet JD – the beloved nursing home cat at Hatley Health Care 🐾

JD didn’t arrive through a formal program — he simply showed up one day and chose his forever family. And from that moment on, residents and staff fell completely in love.

From riding the halls in his stroller like he owns the place to snuggling with residents and visiting staff, JD brings comfort, laughter, and calm to the community every single day. The smiles he sparks and the gentle moments he creates are a reminder that sometimes the best therapy has four paws and a very big heart.

Thank you, Hatley Health Care, Inc., for sharing JD’s story and helping us kick off the 75 Stories of Care Challenge!

January is Activities Professionals Appreciation Month, and Hatley Health Care and Rehab has 2 of the very best! Meet Mechelle Jackson and Jackie Hall. Mechelle is the Activity Director, and Jackie is the Activity Assistant. These ladies plan and implement daily activities for the residents at Hatley Health Care. Their attention to detail and compassionate nature is seen in each and every activity planned for the residents. Mechelle has been employed at Hatley Health Care for 13 years, with 11 of those years being the Activity Director. In February, Jackie will have been employed at Hatley Health Care for 35 years as a CNA, with 10 + of those years being an Activity Assistant. These ladies are not only dedicated and loyal to Hatley Health Care but also to the many residents at the facility. Congratulations, ladies.

Just wanted to share the kind words that a resident's family wrote to the staff at Hatley Health Care. We receive so many compliments and cards of thanks for the love and compassion that the staff bestow on our residents each and every day. Our residents and their families become our families as well. We are so honored and humbled to be able to provide the highest level of care to your loved ones and we grieve with you when your loved one passes away. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of taking care of each and every one of them.

Late post from December 2025- Happy Maintenance appreciation month to our maintenance department at Hatley Health Care and Rehabilitation: Keith Hauswirth and Gage McDaniel! We celebrated our maintenance department with a gift card and lunch provided by the Administrator, Lance Bolding.

Annual Hatley Health Care Christmas party . This year, we decided to support a local business and used Neighborhood Grill and Catering. The food was delicious! We also played some games with the employees and it got competitive. Lol!

We are so proud that one of our long term residents participated in sending the Alabama Nursing Home Association a resident-made ornament. ❤️

Hatley Health Care is accepting gifts for the residents and has a drop box located in the front lobby for gifts. Please see the list of acceptable items to donate. Please include your name or the name of your organization when dropping off items so that we can send you a thank you note. 🎃 Hatley Health Care and Rehabilitation celebrated our Spook-tacular employees the week of Halloween with char-boo-terie boxes filled with a variety of snacks and some eye-scream punch. Hatley Health Care has the best employees and we hope everyone enjoyed their boo boxes. 👻

Congratulations on your retirement from Hatley Health Care and Rehabilitation Teresa Pettijohn! The dietary department held a retirement party for Ms. Teresa last Thursday. We will all miss you and we thank you for your many years of dedicated service at Hatley Health Care.
