December Reset Week 2: Take Action
Have a sense of a plan, but it doesn't have to be perfect - just take the first step. You can ALWAYS adjust.
•Schedule an appointment you've been putting off. Dentist, doctor, therapist, etc. Time flies - you'll tell yourself "I'll do that soon" and before you know it weeks/months have passed. Schedule it.
•Volunteer for a few hours! If you have the ability to help someone who is struggling, take a few hours and lend a hand. It doesn't have to look like 'typical' volunteering (although it can). It can be as simple as going to a friends house that is overwhelmed and helping with what they need. Volunteer your time - you won't ever regret helping someone in need.
•Add something positive to your daily routine. For example: you want to stop drinking coffee and drink more water. Start by just adding positive habits. Have your coffee in the morning, but make sure to also have a big glass of water with it. Having the positive habits established will help you to eliminate the bad ones without falling back into them.
•Pay it forward. This can be monetary, but doesn't have to be. It can mean paying forward a positive action that you were blessed to receive. Were you ever in a place that you needed help, and now you're in the position that you are able to help someone else? Do it!
•Call someone you've been thinking about. If you talk to someone once a month, that's only 12 times a year. Life is precious, don't waste it.
•Do one hard thing you've been avoiding. You could spend hours avoiding a task that takes just a few minutes. Get it done so you can release it from your mind.
A lot of times the first step is the hardest. Stop waiting for someday. Stop avoiding. Stop stalling. Put one foot in front of the other and just take a step. Progress is progress no matter how small. Just start - take action! Again, you can always adjust!
