With nearly 5 years of experience at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Marissa Mendez, MD, FACS is thrilled to continue caring for her patients at Valley Regional Hospital. She brings a strong passion for robotic-assisted surgery, using minimally invasive techniques to treat a range of general surgery conditions leading to reduced post-operative pain and recovery time.

"My goal is to reduce my patients’ pain and help them return to their normal activities and work as soon as possible. Having surgery is a big decision and can be scary for many people. I want my patients to know that I am here to be their partner and advocate in achieving their health goals. I encourage them to ask questions and take an active role in decision-making so that they feel comfortable and confident moving forward with surgery."

Dr. Mendez offers a comprehensive range of general surgery procedures, treating conditions such as gallbladder disease, appendicitis, symptomatic hernias, GERD, and more. Her patient-centered approach combines cutting-edge technology with compassionate care, so patients feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

Want to make a difference in the community? We are looking for a pharmacy technician to join our team (full-time, day shift).

"What I enjoy the most about being a Pharmacy Technician is being there to help manage patients' medications, health and wellbeing. Whether it's speaking to patients at bedside or working behind the scenes compounding IV's or delivering medications; knowing I'm there to help support patient care brings me a lot of joy." - Amanda, CPhT

Sometimes it’s the little things—like celebrating 26 Fridays of matching outfits with your work bestie!

In the Valley Regional Rehabilitation Department, we use a mentorship model to welcome new therapists. In Fall 2024, Andrew Casey, DPT, CMTPT mentored Dallas Lahache, DPT, as he began his physical therapy journey. Somewhere between regular check-ins and patient care, they realized they had four of the same shirts and thus a legendary matching-shirt Friday tradition was born. What started as a love for Under Armour and golf quickly turned into camaraderie bringing smiles to both team members and patients alike.

Plus, the Rehabilitation team even dressed like the 'matching therapists' this past Halloween. Talk about team spirit! 🙂
