Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common eye condition that affects the macula—the part of the retina responsible for sharp, central vision. It most often develops as we age and can make activities like reading, driving, and recognizing faces more difficult. AMD does not cause complete blindness, but it can significantly impact daily life if left unmanaged.

There are two main types of AMD: dry and wet. Dry AMD progresses slowly and is more common, while wet AMD is less common but can cause faster vision changes. Regular eye exams are important, as early stages may not have noticeable symptoms. Early detection and proper care can help slow progression and protect your vision.👁️‍🗨️
