In-elastic compression garments are widely used in therapy! These often serve as a great alternative to elastic compression (stockings, pantyhose, etc) for patients who do not have enough hand strength to pull on other garments. When applied correctly, in-elastic compression can be just as effective.

Did you know these are all symptoms of Stage 2 and 3 Lymphedema? Many patients complain that in the early stages of their chronic swelling, their skin began to change as well. There’s a reason for this! It’s called Diffusion Distance, which increases as lymphatic fluid begins filling the space between the skin and underlying cardiovascular structures.

We proudly offer at our clinic! This device offers deep oscillation therapy, which provides a vibration-like feel through our gloves and penetrates 8 cm below the skin to break up fibrotic tissue and improve lymphangiomotoricity of the lymphatics. This device helps us decrease treatment duration and improve results. Give our office a call for more information!

Let’s talk Bandaging:

Bandaging the affected limbs is so important in the process of CDT. Bandaging reduces the size of the affected extremities by allowing the muscles to contract and “bump” against the walls of the bandages and slowly push fluid up and out of the limb into a tissue space that is better equipped to handle lymphatic flow.

The goal is always to move fluid from Unhealthy➡️ Healthy tissue spaces.
