It’s that magical time of year when Christmas cheer fills the air—and nothing spreads it quite like music!

Here at The Birches, we’re lucky to be surrounded by the incredible musical talents of so many local artists throughout the season! Their songs brighten our halls, lift our spirits, and bring neighbors together in the most joyful way!

For our members, we know music is more than entertainment—it boosts mood, sparks memories, eases stress, and creates meaningful connections with those around us.

Birches’ Members were happy to volunteer to help out the as the Lions get ready to host their annual Christmas Tree Sales in the this season! Our residents loved helping the Lions today making the 500+ tree tags, learning the history of the Club as they celebrate 75 years of service, and doing their part to help our local community!

Did you know that assisted living can help preserve relationships or foster deeper connections with your friends or loved ones? Time is precious. According to AARP over 40 million Americans provide unpaid care to loved ones causing more stress and burnout. We love what we do and time is meant to be enjoyed like our CEO had with her Grandma, Lili, while living here at The Birches. The moments experienced and captured remain cherished and priceless to this day.

Last week to get your votes in today, and often, for The Birches' Addams Family Scarecrow! SHARE with friends/family to do the same! Our residents and team members worked hard to make their annual scarecrow extra special this year! Every vote counts, and the residents want to hold their 1st place title! Resident Kathy thoroughly enjoyed making Wednesday's doll with lots of laughter coming from her neighbors as she sewn it together the right way! Our Birches' Annual Trick or Treating event is tomorrow for our friends and families! We hope you can join us for this festive event with special visit from the Windy City Ghostbusters! Our members are excited to pack the Ghostbuster trunk with all the Toys we collected for La Rabida Children's Hospital and love seeing all the kids and their costumes!

Our Members had a fun time seeing their Addam’s Family scarecrow out in the wild! We drove up and down Cass Avenue in Village of Westmont, Government looking at the other scarecrows as we went by! We then, parked the bus and walked over to our scarecrow for a photo located near Nature's Best! Lil and Suzanne were the only two brave enough to go up to the family and check in to see how they are doing out there even though we had a full bus of members! Make sure to get your vote in today, and vote often, for The Birches' Scarecrow! They are holding up well!

If you do not know someone that has lived this experience, our residents are happy to have lunch with a guest, to potentially meet a new neighbor, and genuinely answer questions someone may have. Live the life you love, and choose the life you want to live. We live life every day here, and life is what we make of it!
