Morning Mantra: “When you forgive, you heal. When you let go, you grow.”

People hurt each other. It happens to everyone. Intentionally, unintentionally. It happens. I believe it’s a part of what we do as humans.

The beauty is that we have the ability to heal and forgive too. We don't forget what happened but we can let go of the bitterness, the anger, the feelings of betrayal. We can recognize that we are punishing ourselves unless we forgive. And that is called healing. That is called growth.

Forgiveness doesn’t exonerate the perpetrator, it liberates you. It is a gift you give to yourself, to let you grow, to let you move on.

Anxiety is a tough one. It makes it feel like your body isn’t safe, even when you know it is just sending off false alarms. You feel like you can’t sit with the emotion without trying to push it away.

But sitting with the feeling of anxiety is an opportunity to practice recognizing uncomfortable emotions and learning how to not let them hijack your day.

Sitting with your anxious feelings is a chance to release the false belief that you need to be in control all the time. To remind yourself that you are not your thoughts, and that your anxiety doesn’t define you, it might be a part of you but not who you are.
