In Loving Memory of my neice Jada Simone Sampson
This is my daughter Kamani Bre’one Smith and my niece Jada Simone Sampson. Kamani was so protective of her little cousin — their bond was pure love.
Jada was wise beyond her 20 years. She dropped pearls of wisdom that many missed because they focused on her age. She became my niece through the sisterhood I share with her mom, Dr. La’Tesha Sampson, and she became my joy.
When Jada asked to come to RzTheFlags in Newark to see our work, I said yes — and she did more than see it. She served. She created and led her own Creative Writing Workshop at The H.E.L.P. Center, helping men and women find healing through words. Later, she became our Book Club Moderator, using her gift to reach hearts.
RzTheFlags and Table.Talk.Truth with Tonja honor Jada’s life, her brilliance, and her legacy. Kamani and I thank you, Jada, for touching our lives and so many others. You were different — beautifully different.
We love you forever Jada.
