A Winter Storm Warning have been issued for portions of central Indiana for the expected snow Saturday. To our knowledge, this is the first November Winter Storm warning in recent memory for central Indiana with records going back to 2008. Plan accordingly for you remaining holiday travel.

An impactful winter storm is expected across much of central Indiana Saturday into Saturday night. Greatest impacts will be towards Lafayette and during the afternoon and evening. During periods of mix, the left precipitation type is the expected primary type. Exact transition time remains uncertain.

Cold and often brisk conditions will maintain wind chill values generally 15 to 25 degrees. Expect wind chills around 10 degrees early this morning, and down to 10-20 degrees Sunday night.

Confidence is increasing in moderate snowfall north of I-70 Saturday and Saturday night...with lighter accumulations most likely for points south. Snowfall totals will depend on how fast snow mixes with or changes to light rain Saturday evening. Chances for significant snowfall are greatest in the Lafayette and Kokomo areas.

A winter storm this weekend will bring accumulating snow Saturday and Saturday night, with greatest travel impacts near and north of I-70, focused during the afternoon…and into evening hours when snow should taper to a brief period of light rain for central and southern counties.
