“Do you have a personal doctor that you can call anytime you need to? Can you say that you love your doctor? I can pick up my phone and send a quick message when I have a question, concern, or in need of a refill. I get to choose when to have my appointments because the doctor has a limited number of patients so I usually get in the same-day or next day at any time and…NO WAITING. I also choose if I want a virtual visit over the phone which I did on my lunch and didn’t have to use any vacation or personal time. Best thing ever! They are also starting this program called SMART and I am already on the waiting list to start my sessions. It is Stress Management And Resiliency Training, basically therapy with effective assignments and goals to work through my personal issues and obtain a happier mindset. Whether you or a someone you know is affected with mental illness you know the stigma associated to it can be overbearing. Let's all make a difference to end the stigma together, as we all are not always "ok" and it is ok...to not be ok.
1. Know the facts and take the time to educate yourself and others about mental illness including substance use disorders. Proceed with facts and challenge the stereotypes.
2. Be aware of your attitude and behavior. Examine your own judgmental thinking, choose your words carefully.
3. Focus on the positive.
4. Support. Treat everyone with dignity and respect; offer support and encouragement.

"Working around the clock is what I have chosen to do. I love owning my own company, being busy and actively moving my company forward with different goals and missions. My business is priority, even over my health which later down the road I know will only harm me. Direct Primary Care has allowed me to access healthcare when I need it and address my issues and concerns in an effective and timely manner. I can access my doctor anytime I want by sending a quick message or phone call. My doctor knows I am super busy and having direct access to his cell phone when needed saves me time and money.
