New Heights Assisted Living

New Heights Assisted Living Located in Clarkston, New Heights Assisted Living is a 6 bed Adult Foster Care home which provides long term, 24-hour care for the aged.

Our facility offers residency to individuals who are aged, who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, along with others who are in need of 24 hour assistance. Nutritious meals and snacks will be provided according to recommended dietary standards, and staff will provide assistance with basic daily living skills as needed. Residents will receive assistance with medications, including administration,

acquiring re-fills, monitoring for possible side-effects and keeping a medication log. We have daily activities to stimulate memory, physical and mental strength, and provide interactive daily living where the resident’s will feel comfortable and cared for. In addition, we seek to engage the community in the home as well as opportunities for the residents to engage in local festivities. We work to create a stimulating environment to help our residents continue to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Trained staffing will be available at all times to assure our residents safety and that they receive the best care and assistance possible to meet their needs.

Teagan and Esther, two students from Oxford High School, had the beautiful idea for their capstone project to raise funds and give gift baskets to folks on hospice. Both having loved ones who went through the hospice experience it was dear to their hearts. These two, along with hundreds of others who supported their cause and gave money or handmade gifts, provided 50 baskets to individuals! They teamed up with Hospice and Executive Director Deanee, to gift these baskets to seniors and individuals all over the community! We were so blessed to be among the recipients of these! Our Annie kept saying, “I don’t feel worthy of this!” Oh my dearest Annie, but you are. ✨ thank you ladies for spreading love today to us!

Last week we did our final Easter craft with Steve while Nina’s baby visited, followed by Easter trivia, individual massages and music bingo! These ladies LOVE music bingo! They were singing along the whole time. Rochelle and Midge sang Country Road Take Me Home, Annie teared up when You are my sunshine came on, and Carol and Phyllis were singing and bobbing along with the music all the while!

Our St. Patrick’s Day Party this past week was a blast from start to finish! Truly a great day for all! We had corned beef, boiled cabbage, carrots and potatoes. We watched a video on St. Patrick, did an armchair travel video to Ireland, watched river dancing and wedding videos of Irish folk songs. We played water pong, threw gold coins in our pot of gold and did a cup stacking competition! Steve and Wendi facilitated a great day for our New Heights family!
