New Heights Assisted Living

New Heights Assisted Living Located in Clarkston, New Heights Assisted Living is a 6 bed Adult Foster Care home which provides long term, 24-hour care for the aged.

Our facility offers residency to individuals who are aged, who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, along with others who are in need of 24 hour assistance. Nutritious meals and snacks will be provided according to recommended dietary standards, and staff will provide assistance with basic daily living skills as needed. Residents will receive assistance with medications, including administration, acquiring re-fills, monitoring for possible side-effects and keeping a medication log. We have daily activities to stimulate memory, physical and mental strength, and provide interactive daily living where the resident’s will feel comfortable and cared for. In addition, we seek to engage the community in the home as well as opportunities for the residents to engage in local festivities. We work to create a stimulating environment to help our residents continue to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Trained staffing will be available at all times to assure our residents safety and that they receive the best care and assistance possible to meet their needs.

On Monday, Jenny led the ladies through making birdfeeders for the front awning, followed by exercising with the windows open to breathe in our 50 degree day, and the ladies finished the evening with a movie night watching The Big Wedding! She produced such a fun day for our seniors!

Babies, babies, babies! Owner Sarah brought over Johnny for a baby cuddle session with the ladies and Care-Partner Nina had her husband bring over both her baby Virginia and their dog to see the residents, specifically because our new resident Carol’s favorite things are dogs and babies! So thoughtful! Wendi’s daughter Sabrina and granddaughter Clarke also stopped by today and Clarke was a little momma as well and showed her baby doll to the residents 😉

Friday was National Chewing Gum Day!
Wendi brought in gum from our past and we tried to identify them.

We want to give a big, warm welcome to our new resident Carol! She’s such a wonderful addition and just the right fit for our home. When Phyllis and Carol met each other, Phyllis said, “Welcome! We’re so happy to have gained another sister.” And that is such a spot on description of what this group of ladies mean to each other and what Carol already means to us, a sisterhood and a family. Welcome, Carol!

A question that was posed to our seniors, “If you could meet anyone famous, dead or alive, who would you want to meet?” A rousing discussion began on each individual’s choice and why! Wendi with the aide of AI then brought these ideas to life!

One of the ones we love so much is Annie’s! Annie, since she was a young girl, has always had a crush on Roy Rogers both from his appearance and personality. Annie always has joked that no man in real life could live up to the pedestal she put Roy Rogers on! So this adorable photo of her joy filled and holding onto her dream man is definitely one we will frame and hang on her wall! 😂
