Meet Our Team: Charlotte Downs is a graduate of Spencerian College with a degree in Business Management. She is a Certified Community Healthcare Worker and has served as a Peer Support Specialist for the past five years, dedicating her life to helping individuals overcome substance misuse and rebuild their lives.

Charlotte’s passion for prevention comes from her own lived experiences. Having once battled homelessness and substance use, she now celebrates 15 years of sobriety. Her journey has fueled a deep compassion and commitment to ensure that young people do not have to endure the same struggles she faced.

Through her work with youth, Charlotte brings authenticity, empathy, and real-life perspective. Her ability to connect with students allows her to communicate the realities of substance misuse and the importance of making healthy choices. She strives to equip young people with the awareness and understanding needed to avoid harmful paths and build brighter futures.

Charlotte’s love for people and her powerful testimony make her a strong advocate for youth prevention, recovery awareness, and community healing.

Meet Our Team: Chelsea Getty is a graduate of the University of Louisville, where she earned her degree in Justice Administration. She brings a unique blend of creativity, leadership, and community passion to her work with young people.

Chelsea is also a cellist with the Saw Peep Pan-Asian Ensemble, where she contributes her musical talents while embracing cultural expression through the arts.

As a Facilitator with POP The Culture, Chelsea plays an important role in Clark County youth substance-use prevention education. She is passionate about empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to make healthy decisions and live substance-free lives.

Known for her versatility and engaging personality, Chelsea loves teaching, mentoring, and connecting with youth, creating safe spaces where students feel heard, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Meet our team: Rose Penman is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University who is deeply committed to supporting and guiding young people as they navigate their educational and personal journeys. With a passion for mentorship and student success, she serves as a student advisor, working closely with students to help them develop clear goals and practical strategies for their futures.

Rose is also a dedicated Facilitator with POP The Culture, where she plays a vital role in empowering youth to make positive, informed decisions about their lives. Through encouragement, education, and meaningful engagement, she helps students build confidence, strengthen their character, and develop the skills needed to create a successful path forward.

Known for her genuine care for young people and her enthusiasm for helping others grow, Rose takes pride in guiding students to strategically map out their futures and realize their full potential.
