Today is World Health Day β€” and this year's theme couldn't be closer to our mission: Together for health. Stand with science. πŸ’™

At PCS Personal Counseling Services, we've stood with the science of mental health since 1959. Because the research has always been clear: mental health IS health. You cannot separate the wellbeing of the mind from the wellbeing of the body, the spirit, or the community.

Standing with science means:
πŸ”¬ Offering evidence-based counseling and therapy
🎡 Providing board-certified music therapy
πŸ’Š Offering medication management and GeneSight testing
🀝 Treating the whole person β€” not just the diagnosis

And being together for health means ensuring that this care is accessible to EVERYONE β€” regardless of income, background, or zip code β€” through our adjusted-fee scale across 21 counties in Indiana and Kentucky.

This World Health Day, we are grateful to stand alongside our clients, our community, and our donors in this shared commitment to wellness. Because health β€” real, lasting health β€” is something we build together.

This Easter, we're thinking about renewal β€” not just the season, but the kind that happens quietly, courageously, one session at a time.
Renewal looks different for everyone. For some, it's finding the words to finally talk about what they've been carrying. For others, it's a child rediscovering joy through play therapy, or a family learning new ways to connect. For someone in recovery, it's another day of choosing themselves.
At Personal Counseling Services, we are honored to walk alongside people in every season of their journey β€” including the hard ones. Healing isn't always linear, and hope isn't always easy. But it is always worth it.
This spring, if you or someone you love is ready for a fresh start, we're here. Our doors are open, our team is compassionate, and we meet you wherever you are.

On this Good Friday, we pause to reflect on what it means to carry weight β€” and what it means to not carry it alone.
For many in our community, this day holds deep spiritual meaning. It’s a day of grief, of hope held in tension, and of the quiet courage it takes to sit with pain before the dawn of something new.
At Personal Counseling Services, we understand that healing β€” whether spiritual, emotional, or mental β€” is rarely a straight line. It’s a journey that takes time, community, and compassionate support.
If you or someone you love is walking through a heavy season, you don’t have to walk it alone. We’re here. πŸ’™

What if the most powerful tool in a therapy session wasn't a word β€” it was a note? 🎡
At PCS, our board-certified music therapists use evidence-based, clinical music interventions β€” not playlists β€” to help clients reach individualized therapeutic goals.
Here's what makes it different:
βœ… Clinical assessment to identify goals
βœ… Interventions tailored to each client's preferred music
βœ… Ongoing progress tracking and reassessment
βœ… Board-certified therapists with specialized degrees in music therapy
And the neuroscience is fascinating β€” music simultaneously engages the regions of the brain that govern movement, decision-making, emotion, and sensation. Few interventions activate the brain so broadly, so naturally.
Our music therapy program commonly serves individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and motor impairment β€” populations for whom music can open doors that traditional talk therapy sometimes cannot.
This isn't music class. This is clinical care. πŸ’™
