Laura Colman, DC

Laura Colman, DC Dr. Laura Colman is a family based chiropractor. She focuses on the holistic health and well being She grew up on a farm and has always had a passion for horses.

Dr. Laura Colman grew up a military brat, attending high school in Warren County, Virginia. Her father is a retired Flight Surgeon and General Practitioner of medicine. She always knew she wanted to help people when she grew up, but was not sure exactly which avenue to focus her passion on. Upon commencement from high school, she attended college at Arizona State University. Here, she studied Humanities and was very active in her sorority, Sigma Delta Tau. She was later compelled to move to University of Pittsburgh. While attending University of Pittsburgh, she was elected Vice President of External Affairs, and later, President of her sorority. She continued her education closer to home at George Mason University. Active still within the thoroughbred breeding and racing world, she was able to incorporate her love for horses and school. Dr. Colman moved to Florida, where she started working for a chiropractor as an assistant. She witnessed life changing events in this chiropractic office time after time. She realized how long reaching and life changing chiropractic care can be. This was when she realized that she should be a chiropractor. She attended Life University in Marietta, GA. During her time in chiropractic school, she realized how important it was to be comfortable and knowledgeable when caring for pregnant women, babies and children. She was inspired to seek out her certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. In addition to her strenuous class schedule, being a mother and wife, she added 180 hours of additional education focusing in this special population. Dr. Colman's move to Clarksville, brought on by her husband's Army career, has allowed her to serve the area since July of 2012. While practicing, she has contributed to several peer reviewed research cases. Dr. Colman believes that through research, chiropractic offices can become the first place people go to for help. She is extremely excited to hold space for you at Holistic Health Center in Clarksville, TN. She believes that chiropractic care, delivered in a precise and caring way can be a powerful and life changing catalyst allowing people of all ages to live better, healthier lives. Her favorite quote is from BJ Palmer, on his deathbed. "May God flow from above down His bounteous strengths, courage and understanding to carry on; and may your Innate receive and act on that free flow of wisdom from above down, inside out . . . for you have in your possession a sacred trust. Guard it well."

Your schedule fills up quickly — work, family, responsibilities, appointments for everyone else.

But your nervous system is what keeps it all running.

When your spine moves well and your nervous system functions the way it’s designed to, your body is better equipped to adapt, recover, and stay healthy.

Good health doesn’t happen by accident. It happens on purpose.

📲 If your health isn’t on the calendar yet, this is your reminder.

Last week’s barn calls came with layers. Lots of layers.

Cold weather can increase muscle tension and stiffness, especially in performance horses. But when you see a horse soften, and lick and chew after an adjustment — that’s often a sign of release and relaxation through the nervous system.

Those quiet moments?
That’s why it’s worth it. 🐴💚

Performance starts with movement — not muscle alone.

When spinal and joint motion is restricted, a horse may struggle to move efficiently. Over time, that can show up as:

• difficulty bending or collecting
• trouble picking up or maintaining leads
• shortened or uneven stride
• reduced engagement from the hind end
• changes in posture under saddle

Chiropractic adjustments help restore normal joint motion, allowing the body to move the way it’s designed to — improving balance, coordination, and overall performance.

👉 If your horse feels “off,” uneven, or harder to ride than usual, biomechanics may be part of the picture. We’re happy to help evaluate.
