The Activities Department at Clark Rehabilitation recently treated our residents to a wonderful outing at Huber Winery, and it could not have been a more perfect Fall day. The group enjoyed a delicious lunch together, sharing stories and laughter while taking in the warm, inviting atmosphere of the winery. The crisp air, colorful leaves, and peaceful setting created the ideal backdrop for a relaxing afternoon away from the facility.

After lunch, residents happily explored the beautiful grounds, admiring the vineyards, seasonal displays, and charming farm areas. Many took photos, sampled treats, and simply enjoyed the fresh air and scenery. Thanks to the thoughtful planning and enthusiasm of our Activities Department, the trip became a memorable experience filled with joy, connection, and the simple pleasures of a beautiful autumn day.

At Clark Rehabilitation, the fall season brought a burst of color, creativity, and excitement as residents gathered to work on their autumn crafts. The halls filled with laughter as everyone decorated pumpkins, arranged vibrant leaf collages, and painted cozy fall scenes. What started as a simple seasonal activity quickly became a joyful event that sparked conversations, friendships, and pride in the beautiful projects everyone created.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible Activity Department, whose dedication and enthusiasm made each moment special. Their thoughtful planning, encouragement, and endless creativity transformed the crafting sessions into something truly memorable. With their support, residents felt inspired, engaged, and eager to participate. Thanks to this amazing team, Clark Rehab wasn’t just filled with fall decorations—it was filled with warmth, community, and a heartfelt sense of accomplishment.

Congratulations to Emily Carey, RN, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025, who was celebrated last night at the Quest for Excellence award banquet at the Marriott in Indianapolis. The Quest for Excellence award is the highest level of recognition an ASC employee can receive, honoring those who exhibit a compassionate and dedicated approach that surpasses their typical job requirements.

At Clark Rehabilitation, Veterans Day was a heartfelt celebration of courage, sacrifice, and gratitude. The halls were filled with smiles and pride as residents and staff gathered to honor the brave men and women who served our country. Southern Care Hospice of Southern Indiana graciously organized a moving Veterans Day program, bringing warmth and appreciation to every corner of our community.

Shelby Valvano and Kayla Willoughby led the ceremony with grace and compassion, delivering words that captured the true spirit of the day. As each veteran’s name was called, staff members assisted in the pinning ceremony, a small but powerful gesture of recognition for their service and dedication. The sight of proud veterans wearing their pins brought tears and applause from everyone in attendance.

We are deeply honored to have Southern Care Hospice partner with us for this meaningful event. Their commitment to celebrating and supporting our veterans made the day truly special. At Clark Rehab, we are reminded that freedom is never free, and it is our privilege to show gratitude to those who have given so much for our nation.

Amanda Beam has only been with Clark Rehabilitation for nine short weeks, but her impact has already become impossible to ignore. Fresh out of orientation, she quickly showed a level of compassion and skill that inspired both her patients and coworkers. Whether she was easing a resident’s anxiety or staying late to help a teammate, Amanda’s steady presence and genuine care reflected the heart of nursing at its best. Her dedication, even as a newcomer, stood out in every shift she worked.

When Clark Rehabilitation announced Amanda as Rookie of the Month, the applause that followed was heartfelt and well deserved. Colleagues spoke of her calm professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond, while residents shared how her kindness made them feel seen and valued. For Amanda, it wasn’t about recognition—it was about helping people heal and feel human again. Her journey at Clark had only just begun, but it was already clear that she was making a lasting difference.
