We were honored to welcome Congressman Rick W. Allen to Evans Memorial Hospital this week for a firsthand look at rural healthcare in action.

During his visit, Congressman Allen toured our facility and saw the advanced technology and comprehensive services we've brought to Evans County - ensuring our community can access high-quality care close to home. From our state-of-the-art imaging capabilities to our expanded surgical services and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program, we're proving that rural healthcare can deliver the same level of excellence patients would find in larger metropolitan areas.

We're grateful for this opportunity to advocate for rural hospitals and the critical role we play in our communities. As healthcare challenges continue to evolve, support from leaders like Congressman Allen helps ensure rural Americans have access to the care they need and deserve.

Thank you, Congressman Allen, for taking the time to see our work and hear our story. Together, we're building a healthier future for rural Georgia.

💚 Mental health is a vital part of your overall health. 💚

At Evans Memorial Hospital, we see folks every day working hard to take care of their physical health, but your mental well-being is just as important to your long-term quality of life. You don't need a fancy retreat or a lot of equipment to stay mentally healthy; you just need a few intentional habits.

Here are three practical ways to stay mentally fit this week:

Practice a Daily Check-in: Spend a few minutes today just being present. Notice the tension you might be carrying in your shoulders or your back. Slow down your breathing and give yourself a moment of peace. It’s a simple way to manage the stress that can build up over a long week.

Prioritize 30 Minutes of Activity: You don't need a gym membership to get the mental benefits of exercise. A brisk 30-minute walk or any activity that gets you moving helps release the stress that weighs us down. It’s good for your heart, and it’s even better for your mood.

Make Time for Your Hobbies: We all have things we love to do! Whether it’s gardening, sewing, or just sitting on the porch with a friend. Don't let those things fall by the wayside. Engaging in a hobby helps you disconnect from the day’s demands and keeps your spirit high.

Your health is our priority, and that includes your peace of mind. Which of these three will you try to do today?

Drop a comment below and tell us what keeps you feeling your best! 💚👇
