If you have questions or concerns about breastfeeding, please reach out to your Clay County Health Department. Our Maternal & Child Health (MCH) nurses are here to provide education, support, and resources to help you feel confident and successful on your breastfeeding journey.
Dear breastfeeding mom,
Thank you.
Not because you’re perfect, not because you never doubt yourself, and not because the journey has been easy.
Thank you because you show up, even on the days your body is tired, your mind is overwhelmed, and your heart is carrying more than anyone can see.
Thank you for every latch attempt, every pump session you did half-asleep, every tear you wiped while wondering if you were doing “enough.”
Thank you for learning, unlearning, and trying again.
Thank you for feeding your baby with patience, with love, and with a type of devotion that deserves far more recognition than it gets.
Breastfeeding isn’t always magical.
Sometimes it’s work.
Sometimes it’s sacrifice.
Sometimes it’s lonely.
But you do it anyway, because you know it matters.
Whether today was full of ounces or minutes… whether feeding felt empowering or exhausting… whether you’re nursing at the breast, pumping, triple feeding, donating milk, or navigating challenges you never expected, thank you.
Your effort is seen.
Your love is felt.
Your baby is held, nourished, and comforted because of you.
You are doing something extraordinary.
You always have been.
