PLEASE, stop doing this. If you are going to donate to a memorial fund, write the check to the designated memorial. The family cannot endorse this check to the designated memorial; banks will not accept two party checks. You are creating undue hardship for families when you write memorial checks like this. They must take these checks to the bank, open the Jane Doe memorial fund bank account, have a cashier's check drawn against the account, then close the account once the check clears. If you are donating to a memorial fund by check, the only name that should appear on the Pay To line is the fund designated by the family. Thank you.
