Jesse Edwin Smyth, 78 of Wi******er, passed away at his home February 13, 2026, after a short illness, Eddie was born in Richmond on February 10, 1948, the son of the late Elma Dewey (Bud) Smyth JR and Jeweldena Tipton Carroll. He was the grandson of Hubert and Ethel Arthur Tipton and Elma Dewey SR and Dora Gilbert Smyth. He was retired conductor of the L&N/CSX Railroad, an avid dog lover and fisherman. Survivors include a daughter, Mindy Smyth Riddell of Richmond, a son Justin (April) Smyth of Clay City, two brothers, Linville Smyth of Irvine and Gary (Mary) Smyth of Richmond , two sisters, Melanie Smyth of Lexington, Tonya (Chris) Smith of Irvine; a step daughter Teresa Clark of Wi******er; four grandchildren, Shawn (Kourtney) Clark of Irvine, Michael Clark of Mount Sterling, Chase (Darren) Patrick of Mount Sterling, Adalyn Grace Burris of Wi******er; great grandchildren Ana Reid and Willa Emmett Clark, Christopher and Leon Patrick and Starla Hicks; several nieces, and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his fiancé Debbie Dubois. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday February 18, 2026 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Bill White officiating. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11 am till time of service. Grayson Funeral Home is in charge of services
