Roy Gentry of Clay City passed away Tuesday March 3, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Powell County on October 19, 1947, to the late Calvin Gentry and Reva Mae Ohair. He is survived by his wife Monica Gentry, one son Michael Gentry, two brothers Terry Gentry, Doug Gentry, two sisters Bonnie Kelly, Kim Gentry. Linda Snowden, of Clay City, passed away on February 15 2026. She was born to Simp and Iva (Townsend) Rogers on May 7, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James and Carl Rogers, sisters Cathern Phillips and Ruby Bryant; her husband Tracy Snowden, and sons Wally and Charlie. She leaves behind two sisters, Joyce Overbee and Eunice Starr, and a brother, Paul Rogers. Other survivors include a special sister-in-law Judy, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Before retirement, Linda was a cook for Powell county schools. She had previously worked at Lycoming shoe Factory and CMS in Stanton. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking for and spending time with her Family, and spoiling her fur babies, Bitty and Tater. No services are planned at this time. Shirley Rothwell 77 of Mount Sterling passed away Saturday February 21, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Mount Sterling on September 10, 1948, to William Ritchie and Florance Banks Ritchie. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and was of the Christian faith. Along with her parents William and Florance Banks Ritchie she was proceeded in death by two sons William Ritchie, Timmy Ritchie, one daughter Linda Yarber, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three sons Wayne Lutes, Jimmy Rothwell (Elizabeth Treadway), Gary Rothwell (Mary), three daughters Dorthy Chandler (Robert), Brenda Nester (James), Sandra Rothwell, the father of her children Jimmy Rothwell SR, one brother Donald Ritchie, Four sisters Connie Hall, Nancy Ritchie, Faye Rothwell, Minnie Ritchie, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren, a very special friend Kathy Marcum. He was the grandson of Hubert and Ethel Arthur Tipton and Elma Dewey SR and Dora Gilbert Smyth. He was retired conductor of the L&N/CSX Railroad, an avid dog lover and fisherman.
