Black History Month has always been about more than looking back. It’s about honoring resilience, celebrating progress, and continuing the work.
As a Black-owned mental health practice, Healing Spaces was created because access to quality, culturally responsive care has not always been equitable, and in many ways, it still isn’t. We’ve spent years building a place where people feel seen, respected, and supported in their healing.
And we’re proud of that.
But we also know the reality.
Right now, many people are carrying stress, uncertainty, grief, and fear for themselves, for their families, and for the future. At the same time, barriers to mental health care are still very real. Some people don’t have insurance. Some have insurance they can’t use. Some need privacy. Some are navigating financial strain or life transitions that make care feel out of reach.
That’s why our Access Fund exists.
The Access Fund provides reduced-fee therapy and psychological evaluations for individuals and families who otherwise would not be able to receive care. 100% of the money donated goes directly toward client services, helping cover the cost of appointments for those who need additional support.
This Black History Month, if you’ve ever believed in the importance of mental health, equity, or community care, we invite you to be part of that mission.
