🌍 World Mental Health Day 2025: Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies
When crisis hits ,whether it’s a natural disaster, community violence, or personal loss the emotional aftermath can linger long after the headlines fade.
Earlier this year, the tornado that struck North St. Louis reminded us how quickly lives can be turned upside down. Amidst rebuilding homes and neighborhoods, many are also rebuilding emotionally navigating grief, fear, and uncertainty.
At Healing Spaces, we believe that healing should be accessible to everyone, especially in times of crisis. That’s why we created the CARES Program, a new initiative supported by the St. Louis Mental Health Board, dedicated to expanding access to therapy for those who need it most.
💛 Through CARES, we’re able to offer free and low-cost therapy to individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing financial hardship with special support for youth up to age 21 who are experiencing or at risk of serious emotional or mental health challenges.
Alongside our Therapy Access Fund, we’re removing barriers so our communities can access the healing they deserve.
Because mental health care is not a privilege , it’s a right.
