🌍 World Mental Health Day 2025: Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies

When crisis hits ,whether it’s a natural disaster, community violence, or personal loss the emotional aftermath can linger long after the headlines fade.

Earlier this year, the tornado that struck North St. Louis reminded us how quickly lives can be turned upside down. Amidst rebuilding homes and neighborhoods, many are also rebuilding emotionally navigating grief, fear, and uncertainty.

At Healing Spaces, we believe that healing should be accessible to everyone, especially in times of crisis. That’s why we created the CARES Program, a new initiative supported by the St. Louis Mental Health Board, dedicated to expanding access to therapy for those who need it most.

💛 Through CARES, we’re able to offer free and low-cost therapy to individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing financial hardship with special support for youth up to age 21 who are experiencing or at risk of serious emotional or mental health challenges.

Alongside our Therapy Access Fund, we’re removing barriers so our communities can access the healing they deserve.

Because mental health care is not a privilege , it’s a right.

❓❓Why consider family therapy?
Every family faces unique challenges, and sometimes having a supportive space to work through them together makes all the difference. From communication struggles and life transitions to modern stressors like screen time, pandemic shifts, or financial pressures—therapy can help families reconnect, strengthen bonds, and find new ways forward.

Meet Nicole Murdock, LPC and Patrick Charlier, LPC two of our therapists who specialize in working with families from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of needs.

💙 Because healing doesn’t just happen individually, it can happen together.

Today is a great day to support our Access Fund!

Organizations should be able to raise funds for free and keep 100% of what they raise. This contribution helps make that possible. It helps cover the cost of security, support, web hosting, and maintenance so that this organization and its donors can be supported by real humans and best-in-class sof...

🖤 This Juneteenth, Help Make Therapy Accessible 🖤

Juneteenth honors liberation , not just freedom from physical bo***ge, but the ongoing fight for emotional, mental, and spiritual healing.

This year, you can be part of that legacy.
✨ Donate to our Therapy Access Fund and help provide free therapy for Black and marginalized individuals who deserve healing but face financial barriers.

Your support means:
🖤 Access to 1:1 therapy sessions
🖤 Culturally competent, affirming care
🖤 A step toward justice in mental health

Let’s honor this day not just with remembrance, but with action.
