Up this morning with so much gratitude. However, it didn’t start off that way. It started off as anxiety.

For those that really know me know that my mother died on my 17th birthday at 42yrs old. For years like clockwork the sadness, anxiety, and for many many years fear of death plagued me as my birthday approached.

I couldn’t go back to sleep so I started praying and almost immediately I was able to recognize what was happening. Over the years as I reflect I notice it started very subtle with the rehearsing in my mind of what happened, what I lost, which wasn’t just my mom by the way, it was the opportunity to have her journey with me through life. Her getting to see me graduate along with all of my firsts.
Which still gets me choked up at times.

However, as I prayed this morning the focus wasn’t what I don’t have but what I do have…❤️LIFE❤️ I’M LIVING! I too am also a mom and many more awesome things🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m living, learning, and growing past every trauma that has kept me shackled for many years. THANK YOU GOD!!

Today I challenge you to shift your energy not on what you don’t have, but what you do have. Find at least 1 thing to be grateful for and give thanks no matter how small or big.

I pray this encourages someone today as I know there are many people hurting deeply.
