Where do you want to be at 85?

It’s a question most of us avoid, but the answer is almost always the same: "I want to stay independent."

The reality is that independence doesn't happen by accident—it happens by design. While we spend decades planning for retirement, we often forget to plan for aging.

Without a plan, independence is often lost in a single moment—a fall, a hospital stay, or a sudden crisis. But by asking the hard questions now, you can protect your choices for the future.

In our latest blog, we explore the "Decision Decade" (ages 70–80) and how to build a care strategy that keeps you in control.

If you sit down with enough seniors and simply listen, a pattern becomes clear. It does not matter their background, their financial situation, or their

Parkinson’s is more than just a movement disease.

Most people associate Parkinson’s with tremors and muscle stiffness, but the non-movement symptoms are just as impactful. Parkinson’s is a progressive brain disorder that also affects behavior and mood.

In fact, research shows that nearly 50% of people with Parkinson’s experience anxiety, and many face depression at some point in their journey.

Other "invisible" symptoms include:
◽️ Sleep problems
◽️ Memory loss
◽️ Changes in bowel function
◽️ Loss of taste or smell

If you or a loved one are struggling with the mental health aspects of Parkinson's, remember that you aren't alone. Seeking support through a doctor, therapist, or support group is a vital part of the care plan.

Parkinson's is more than a movement disease; it can also have mental health effects like depression or anxiety. Learn more about these emotional effects.

Strong turnout and meaningful collaboration at the Small Assisted Living Coalition’s Home Care Panel on April 14 at Arbor Terrace Citrus Park.

Nearly 80 professionals came together for this monthly meeting, where six home care organizations shared insights on licensing, services, and real-world care delivery. The discussion highlighted an important reality in our space: when providers align around quality and communication, seniors and families benefit.

Grateful to be part of a panel alongside a group of dedicated partners who are all working toward the same goal, delivering better care for our aging and less-abled community.

Opportunities like this reinforce the importance of collaboration, not competition, in raising the standard of care across our local market.

Looking forward to continuing to build strong partnerships through the Small ALF Coalition.

Don’t let hearing loss lead to silence. 💙

Did you know that untreated hearing loss in seniors is linked to higher risks of depression, social isolation, and loneliness? It’s about so much more than just volume—it’s about staying connected to the people you love.

Common signs that it might be time for a hearing check-up:
* Difficulty following conversations in crowded rooms.
* Feeling like others are "mumbling" all the time.
* Feeling unusually tired after social interactions.
* Needing the TV volume higher than everyone else.

The good news? Hearing aid technology has come a long way! Being proactive today ensures a higher quality of life tomorrow.

Easy Living is a home health care provider committed to helping your family navigate senior living. Learn how hearing loss can affect your loved ones.

Is Remote Patient Monitoring right for your loved one? 🤔

One of the biggest worries for families of seniors living alone is "What if something happens and I don't know?"

Remote Patient Monitoring bridges that gap. By allowing frequent, direct communication with healthcare providers and constant tracking of health data, RPM gives families the assurance that their loved ones are being looked after—even when they can't be there in person.

Check out our latest blog to see how RPM can improve quality of life and health outcomes for your elderly loved ones:

Easy Living can help you decide if remote monitoring is the right choice for you and your family by weighing the positives and negatives that come with it.

Is your loved one skipping meals?

As metabolism slows down, many seniors lose their appetite, but missing meals can lead to muscle decline and a loss of independence.

The good news? They don't need to eat large meals to stay strong. Simply ensuring there is a small amount of protein in every meal can help them stay mobile and out of a nursing home. If your loved one is resistant, remind them that better nutrition is the key to staying in the home they love! ❤️

Check out our latest post for a breakdown of the science and easy meal ideas:

EasyLiving wants to help the senior in your life remain independent by recommending a diet of three protein filled meals per day.

As we age, our bodies’ nutritional needs change. While a balanced diet is key, sometimes we need a little extra boost to keep our bones strong and our energy up!
