✨ Inspiring Representation on TV! ✨

Jamie-Lynn Sigler beloved for her role as Meadow Soprano is returning to television in a powerful new way. She’ll guest-star on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Laura Kaplan, a urologist living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), in the episode airing January 15, 2026. 🩺💙

What makes this especially meaningful? The role was created for her and it reflects her real-life experience with MS, a journey she’s lived with for more than two decades. Sigler has been a vocal advocate for MS awareness and continues to inspire others by sharing her story. 🙌

💬 As she shared on Instagram: “If you told me 20 years ago that I would play a role on one of my favorite shows, not having to hide my MS but having it inspire a story… I would have never believed you.”

Representation matters and this story is helping shine a spotlight on resilience, advocacy, and living boldly with chronic illness. 💜

🚨 Major Advance in MS Diagnosis! 🚨
Clinicians now have powerful new tools to diagnose Multiple Sclerosis (MS) earlier and more accurately meaning patients can get on appropriate therapies sooner. 🧠💡

🧪 Thanks to updated international consensus recommendations and revised diagnostic criteria, neurologists can now use advanced imaging markers like paramagnetic rim lesions (PRLs) and the central vein sign (CVS) on MRI alongside traditional assessments to identify MS with greater confidence in a single visit. This represents a big step forward in reducing delays that previously slowed diagnosis and treatment.

🩺 Earlier diagnosis lets people access disease-modifying therapies sooner, potentially preventing irreversible neurological damage and improving long-term outcomes.

This evolution in MS care highlights how research and innovation are transforming the patient journey from uncertainty to early, precise diagnosis and better tailored care.

The faster patients can be diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, the sooner they can begin taking the powerful medications that can prevent further brain damage.

🚨 Big news for the MS community! 🚨
Octave Bioscience is partnering with Quest Diagnostics to massively expand access to the MSDA Test a blood-based test that measures disease activity in people with Multiple Sclerosis. 🎯

👉 What this means: doctors can now refer patients to any of Quest’s ~7,000 centers nationwide for a simple blood draw. That makes the test far easier to get, wherever you live.

🧪 Why it matters: the MSDA Test tracks 18 protein biomarkers to give a clear, data-driven “disease activity” score helping physicians and patients make more informed treatment decisions. Multiple Sclerosis News Today

💬 To everyone dealing with MS this could be a game-changer for more consistent, accessible monitoring and better personalized care.

🧠 More than half of Americans over 180 million people may be living with a neurological disorder. A major new analysis finds that roughly 54% of the U.S. population is affected, making conditions like migraines, tension-type headaches, diabetic neuropathy and many others far more common than many realize.

👉 The takeaway: neurological disorders are widespread and it’s time we treat brain health as a public health priority. Whether you or a loved one is living with a neurological condition or know someone who is spreading awareness matters now more than ever.

🧠 New Insight on Migraine Triggers

Recent research shows that it’s not just food, sleep, or weather that can trigger migraines — disruptions in your daily routine may play a big role. A study found that when a person’s day veers significantly from their usual pattern, their risk of a migraine within the next 12–24 hours goes up.

For everyone impacted by migraines and the teams who support them: this finding underscores the value of routine stability, consistent self-monitoring and personalized care.

📝 At MSN, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of neurology research and supporting our patients and partners with evidence-based insights.

Any major disruption to your daily routine can be strongly linked to a higher risk of a migraine attack, says a Harvard study.
