Dear Clients of The Amazon Animal Hospital:

It is with great sorrow and unbelievable heartache that I bring more sad news...

Since my father's passing on 4/26/2014 the bank remains unwilling to work with us in regards to the new hospitals construction loan, we are now being forced to shut down our business of nearly 30 years for good.

It was our hope and that we could continue building the new Amazon Animal Hospital building in the Roosevelt location across the street from the new Wal-Mart Location and just a few blocks away from our current location, but it seems to the bank that our loan is too risky for them without Dr. Carvajal (who was the guarantor on the loan) so they will not continue to fund the project.

We were already 40% complete with the new building construction and therefore we owe the bank a considerable amount, without the new building to work out of, we have no way to repay the portion of the loan that we owe, so we will have to sell the land.

What is worse is that because the bank decided to cut our funding and not let us finish building, that they left us wide open for a law suit from the construction company because we cannot finish the contract we signed with them.
Another time sensitive issue we were working against was the re-modeling of the Tri-City Plaza which we were currently in, the plaza is set to be reconstructed and will be torn to the ground in November or December.

The timing of it all did not give us sufficient time to find a great veterinarian (which you ALL deserved after 30 year with my father Dr. Sergio Carvajal DVM) who would provide us with the license to be able to operate this, as well as the new animal hospital.

My father and I thought that we would be able to move into the new location in August or September and continue working with him, possibly taking on a another younger veterinarian for him to mentor for a short time until his retirement....but alas we know now that life does not go as planned sometimes.

So here we are, what we would like to do is to be able to get each and everyone of you your animals records, we would ask that during this next week you stop by or call and we will print them out or try and mail them to you, a lot of you have been coming to us for over 20 years and your records look more like manuscripts we cannot mail those larger histories so we again ask that you personally stop by and pick them up. Leave us a message or send us an email and we will try and get you everything we have.

I want to say from the bottom of our hearts that it was an absolute pleasure serving each and everyone of you.

We were able to help out so many animals in need for nearly 30 years and this gives us tremendous satisfaction.

We wish you all the best, and if you would like a personal recommendations to my next choice of local veterinarian for you to take your best friends to, you can personally email me and I will reply to everyone....if not from me, then ask your family, friends and neighbors who they take their animals to and if they absolutely love them like most of you have loved us then that is the best way to go.
