MEDICAL ASSISTANT
This position is a full-time / part-time Medical Assistant position in a primary care physician’s office
location at 29605 US HWY 19 N, #170, Clearwater, FL 33761. Applicant must be dependable and
available to work Monday through Friday ranging from the hours of 8am to 6pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties will include; but are not limited to the following:
• Assists provider with refilling medication prescriptions and patient procedures.
• Assists the provider with translation, form completion and patient education, as needed.
• Schedules future appointments in the EMR and directs the patient to his/her next stop (lab, pharmacy,
radiology, specialist visit).
• Assists provider with visit confirmation/follow-up calls, preparing letters to patients or rescheduling
appointments. Makes reminder calls and generates correspondence.
• Answers telephones and documents clinical notes in the EMR.
• Completes electronic or paper referrals for patients.
• Process documents received via fax in the EMR.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. High school or Equivalency /GED Diploma and current active Medical Assistant Certification from a
certified institution.
2. Advanced Computer knowledge & skills. Typing minimum of 35wpm.
3. Required: Experienced & proficient in the EMR system EClinicalWorks.
4. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in the English Language.
5. Ability to communicate and work well with people at all levels; excellent team and “people” skills.
6. Assist and maintain a strong working relationship with providers and professional members of the
team.
7. Initiates good judgment and ability to contribute in making decisions in a timely fashion. Actively
seek out and support collaborative thinking and problem solving with others in the practice.
8. Possess a professional appearance and presentation.
9. Must have valid state driver license and have reliable transportation
EXPERIENCE:
• Must be a Certified OR Registered Medical Assistant
• Knowledgeable & proficient in the EMR system EClinicalWorks.
• Must have 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant from a busy medical office
