My wonderful Mum has Parkinson's, her name is Margaret. Several years ago she developed Parkinson's and it progressed to the point where she has a hard time remembering to take her meds correctly and on time.

Mum needs to take her Carbidopa / Levodopa medication at very specific times of the day, in her case 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm. Without the exact amount of medication in her system during the day she'll develop the symptoms that you associate with Parkinson's, including tremors and loss of balance and we don't want that.

If you have Parkinson’s or are a caregiver for someone with Parkinson’s like me, then the key is to make taking these medications as easy as possible.

Watch this video as I show you how I make sure my Mum takes here medication correctly and on time each day.

Parkinson's Disease and How my mother uses these Cards to take Her Carbidopa / Levodopa Correctly and on Time

This is my wonderful mother, her name is Margaret. Several years ago she developed Parkinson's and it's progressed to the point where she has a hard time remembering to take her meds on time.

Mum's problem isn't that she needs to take a lot of medications each time period, but that she needs to take them at very specific times of the day, ie. 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm. Without the exact amount of medication in her system during the day she'll develop the symptoms that you associate with Parkinson's, including tremors and loss of balance and we don't want that.

These disposable cards make my mum more confident and independent. At a glance the card reminds her when she needs to take her medication and which med to take. I can also quickly check to see that the medication was taken. I assemble mum's card on Saturday each week and it literally takes me only a few minutes to do. Since her medications rarely change I could actually do 2 or 3 weeks of cards at one time if I wanted to, but I enjoy the time I spend with my mother.

Saving Money in Assisted Living Facilities

Mom's new ALF (Assisted Living Facility) wants to charge $400 a month to use a different pharmacy than theirs. How is this legal?
I saw the above consumer question in the AgingCare.com Forum.

The question continues below.

We currently use a local pharmacy that will bubble pack all her meds and supplements together, even physical samples. We had to do that because of many problems with her current facility's pharmacy - a different one to the new facility - and also because of many of her meds going missing and others being ordered that were specifically requested not to be ordered that her insurance does not cover and we are left holding the bill for. The current, local pharmacy is great and we don't want to change but can't afford the $400 per month outside pharmacy fee.

How can this be legal? Any advice?

Let me answer this question.

In most states Assisted Living residents are considered medically stable. The facility is their home and you can supply your own less expensive medication packaged in your own Medication Blister Cards.
Many times your insurance company will only approve and pay for medications in pill bottles from pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS.
My customers who have a loved one in an Assisted Living Facility continue to tell me how our 31 day single dose blister cards are saving them hundreds of dollars a month by letting them fill and supply their own medications to the facility. (check out our testimonial page) These single dose cards that you can purchase from Medication Packaging Solutions are the exact same cards that these Assisted Living Facility pharmacies supply and that the assisted living facility will accept.
These single dose cards hold 31 doses of each medication (one month) and are quick and easy to fill at home.

Read Richards Testimonial below.

This review is addressed to fellow medical support people and patients looking for a safer method to protect and take multiple medical pills at several scheduled times a day. My Wife has a debilitating neurological Disease since 2003 requiring to take pills 6 times a day. Medication Packaging Solutions LLC has finally created the safest, fastest and most reliable method to both “hold” and “dispense” multiple pills up to 7 times a day.

We first tried placing multiple pills in the standard plastic “daily flip-up” containers. This method has 2 major disadvantages/design flaws:

1. Pills can easily fall out of the container if the tops of the plastic containers are old or, at a senior moment, accidentally dropping the container on the floor.

2. Patients when they are less than 100% “awake” can too easily poke their fingers and accidentally remove/relocate pills from their required time to be swallowed to another a scheduled time in the container.

Last year we attempted to catch up with the “electronic age” and purchased two (2) types of automated circular pill dispensers with “bells and whistles”. Negative!

1. It is very difficult to add new or remove pills required by Doctor’s orders.

2. The electronic mechanism must remain level. If angled, or dropped, all of the pills fall out of their assigned compartment into a pile of mixed shapes and colors.

In Summary, my Wife and I sincerely recommend watching medication Packaging Solutions LLC’s Video. Then, try this amazing product for several months. You should be very satisfied.
