🧦🐾 Some emergencies start with something as simple as a missing sock.

This sweet pup recently visited our emergency team after swallowing something she shouldn’t have: a sock! Thanks to quick action from her family and prompt veterinary care, she was safely treated and was able to go home the same day. 💙

Foreign object ingestion is one of the most common reasons dogs visit the emergency vet. Everyday items like socks, toys, and other household objects can cause serious issues if they become lodged in the stomach or intestines.

⚠️ If your pet swallows something they shouldn’t:

🐾 A Meaningful Day for Scottie Health 💙🐶

This past weekend, we were honored to host Screening for a Cause at Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers in Clearwater in partnership with the Scottish Terrier Club of Tampa Bay.

Scottish Terriers age 5+ face an increased risk for Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC), and events like this help families take proactive steps toward earlier detection and better outcomes. Throughout the day, our board-certified Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Jocelyn Hogan, performed abdominal ultrasound screenings for participating Scotties — helping support their long-term health and wellbeing. 🐾🩺✨

What made the day even more special was the impact beyond the hospital. 50% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Pinellas Animal Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving animal care, promoting responsible pet ownership, and strengthening the human–animal bond in our community. 💙🐕

We’re incredibly grateful to the Scottish Terrier Club of Tampa Bay for partnering with us on such a meaningful event, and to the Scottie families who participated and helped make a difference. 🙏
