We are growing again, and are happy to announce that the addition of Dr. Nance Hicks and FNPC Eric Thompson.

Dr. Hicks has been at the office for a few months and is thriving, she has a broad practice in Family Care.

Mr. Thompson specializes in acute care and wound care management, is a decorated Veteran and will also be helping with our long term care and rehab facility care.

We are now accepting sick Walk-in and Same Day appointments including New urgent clients and continue to expand our imaging and procedure services with Urgent care level and beyond.

So Blessed to have these two on the team!

In regards to our routine wellness care and monitoring of conditions, we will continue to schedule clients and have an intake process that will include accommodation for urgent needs. Our routine care client interest is very high and the complexity of care in those encounters will need scheduling into appointments that will accomodate for the time needed. Thanks for your understanding.

Our main goal in serving the community is to meet the urgent needs of clients. This change in our intake policy will allow for more rapid response to sick and injured clients, not intended for the complexity of wellness or routine care. Expectation would be that a follow up after the urgent need is met will be scheduled for continuum care.

Happy to support CISD Fine Arts night at the Cleburne Railroaders.

Tennison Orthodontics and Mahaffey Family medicine have worked together for 17 years supporring public education and many other local entities. Two school board trustees and Band booster volunteers, and two crazy supportive spouses.

BTW— All 3 eldest Mahaffey kids in the marching band next year, and 1 Tennison.

Dr. Amy Laude, so many have met her on video calls and phone calls for our telemedicine program and have just loved her like we do. She finished another week of Locums in the office. We will see her back for in person help soon. But saddly we have to send her back to her wonder kids and hubby in Minnesota!

-Godley office closing-

Flu season has more than arrived, and we have seen flu cases for weeks. The recent spike is impressive. Many clients have had pneumonia, and at times, clients of all ages have been very ill.

To all of our clients: please be patient with us, as we triage and work clients into a busy office. We have had to close our Godley office until further notice related to the need to consolidate staff. So many of us have fallen ill to Flu.

Please watch out for misinformation, and also, please be kind. Please do not feel ashamed or wimpy if you seek care or advice from us during this time. We are here to serve the needs of our community, and are privileged that so many of you call our office their medical home.

-- Also, please pray for our American brothers and sisters suffering from the loss of the the Blackhawk and AA flight that tragically collided. It appears to be a total loss of life. It breaks my heart that people are suffering, and I pray to Jesus that they can find healing in this tragedy.

The counseling team is growing! Welcome, Heather Parks,
LPC-A. Heather joins us with experience in treating trauma, psychosis, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-harm, suicidality, anger management, and domestic violence. She sees individuals 8 years and up (video appointments available for ages 13 and up). Heather is trained in EMDR, a treatment for PTSD, and is certified as a National Certified Counselor. She has been in the mental health field since 2017 and enjoys helping others identify underlying issues affecting their lives. We are excited to offer another highly qualified counselor to the team at Mahaffey Family Medicine.
