We were honored to help sponsor breakfast for the incredible Trending Women event last Friday.
It was a beautiful morning spent alongside driven, inspiring women who are leading, building, and pouring into our community.

At Grand Hospice, we know that strong relationships lead to stronger care for the families we serve. Our Co-Founder Mariela was proud to be part of the conversation, making meaningful connections and celebrating the power of collaboration.

Thank you for allowing us to support such a purposeful gathering. 💕

🩺 When Is Hospice Appropriate?
Congestive Heart Failure Spotlight 💙

Heart failure doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like increasing fatigue, more oxygen, persistent swelling, and repeated hospital visits.

Many families are surprised to learn that hospice can support patients with advanced heart disease.

Hospice may be appropriate when someone is:

• Returning to the hospital frequently
• Short of breath even at rest
• Requiring increasing oxygen
• Experiencing swelling that is not improving
• Sleeping most of the day due to fatigue
• Needing help with daily activities
• Choosing comfort over aggressive treatment

When the focus shifts toward comfort and quality of life, Grand Hospice can provide compassionate support at home.

Hospice is not about giving up. It is about dignity, comfort, and being surrounded by the people who matter most.

If you have questions, or would like to discuss your options, we are here to help.

This morning our nursing team came together for documentation and compliance training.

Why? Because our patients and families deserve excellence in every detail.

Strong documentation protects our patients, supports our nurses, and ensures we remain accountable to the standards that guide hospice care.

Compassion is at the heart of what we do. Compliance ensures we can continue doing it well.

Proud of this team for always choosing growth, integrity, and excellence.

Myth: You can’t change your mind after choosing hospice.

Fact: Hospice is a choice. 🤍
Patients can revoke or transition off hospice at any time if their goals change.

The patient is always in control of their plan of care and may start, stop, or transfer hospice services to a provider that best aligns with their goals, values, and needs.

Hospice is meant to be an earlier intervention, not a last option. 🤍

Studies show that patients who enroll in hospice earlier may live an average of nearly a month longer than those who do not receive hospice care, while also experiencing better symptom control, comfort, and support.

Early hospice means more time for:
• Pain and symptom management
• Emotional and spiritual support
• Education and guidance for families
• Medications, equipment, and supplies
• 24/7 access to a hospice care team

At Grand Hospice, we believe earlier support leads to better outcomes, greater peace, and more meaningful moments for both patients and caregivers.

Last week, we shared what families can expect from Grand Hospice while utilizing respite care. This week, we want to continue that education by talking about why families may choose respite in the first place. 🤍

Caregivers may utilize respite when they need rest, are managing their own health needs, have family or work obligations, or simply need a short pause to recharge. Using respite is not a sign of failure; it’s a sign of love, responsibility, and strength.

It’s okay to need help. Hospice care is designed to support both patients and the people who care for them.

Mariela is out doing what she does best: spreading joy, love, and appreciation throughout the community!
This week is Activity Director Appreciation Week, and Mariela’s first stop was Benbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation to show Shalla how much she is valued.

Activity Directors are the heartbeat of long-term care communities. They do more than plan events; they create moments of joy, purpose, and human connection for residents at every stage of life.

Grand Hospice deeply values Activity Directors. They preserve dignity, lift spirits, and foster emotional and social well-being for their residents. Their insight into residents’ personalities, histories, and daily rhythms allow the entire care team to provide more personalized, compassionate support.

By bringing families together, reducing isolation, and collaborating across disciplines, Activity Directors strengthen the entire healthcare community. They remind us that quality care isn’t just about clinical needs. It’s about purpose, comfort, and meaningful moments.

Thank you for being an advocate for joy, connection, and whole-person care. 💙
