Debbie McCaffrey, LMFT

Debbie McCaffrey, LMFT Private counseling practice providing individual, marriage and family therapy in Clemmons, NC. Let’s do this together.

My approach to counseling is what I would describe as warm, inviting and most of all accepting of every individual’s unique story. I am committed to assisting my clients in uncovering the thoughts, patterns and beliefs that may be holding them back from experiencing the fulfillment that they desire either individually or in their relationships. I have a deep passion to help my clients find the hope and healing that they deserve. I believe that every person, relationship, and family is capable of transforming their lives and even their family legacy through the work they do in the counseling setting. Whether here for individual therapy, marriage counseling, or family therapy, the counseling environment is one that will emphasize openness, genuineness, warmth and trust. I want to engage each courageous person that shares this space with compassion and curiosity, along with encouragement as they have taken the brave step towards wholeness and healing. If you find yourself interested in learning more about the counseling journey, please contact me for a FREE 15-minute phone consultation at which point I will be happy to answer any questions that you might have. I would be honored to journey with you as you embark on a path of personal growth, relational peace, and family unity.

Hi everyone! I am always so grateful for the interest in my page. I have worked tirelessly to update my page with Facebook, but I have been unsuccessful.
As of July 2023, I am a fully licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT.)
I have not done an amazing job keeping up this page, but I hope to create a new page with a fresh start, that will allow me to stay active with all of you.
Thank you so much for your interest in my practice. It is one of the greatest privileges of my life to walk alongside of those who trust me with their stories. 🤍

I wanted to share an incredible and FREE community resource! If you have a high school or middle school student, if you are a teacher, or if you are an adult concerned about the tragedy that is teen suicide...these opportunities are for you! I think highly of this group of professionals and I am moved by their generosity in providing these opportunites to learn and grow together. See the attached flier (in comments) for detailed info!

All of this. ❤️

All of this. ❤️

I went to counseling today. One hour.

Not because I’m sick. Not because I’m hurting. Not because I need healing. Not because I’m currently feeling crushed by the weight of the world.

Not this time at least.

Trust me. I’ve been there before. I’ve been in a dark
hole and I’ve wondered when the light would come, but this time I went because I am currently healthy and because I‘d love to stay healthy. I went because I feel good and because I’d love to stay feeling good. I went because tune-ups and check-ups and check-ins and oil changes are so much easier than replacing a busted engine.

NORMALIZE GETTING REGULAR HELP FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.

We all need a boost from time to time, whether it’s in our personal lives, in our motherhood, in our marriages, in our friendships. Life is hard and it’s just a little easier when you can talk to someone who knows a thing or two, and can point you in a better direction. You’ll see significantly more clearly if someone helps clear away the fog.

- Keep your body healthy so you can keep acting and giving and doing.

- Keep your mind healthy so you can keep learning and growing and dreaming.

- Keep your soul healthy so you can keep laughing and loving and living and passing that on to those around you.

This egregious, erroneous, and completely out-dated belief that counseling/therapy is something to be embarrassed of has to go. It’s not. Bye. Erase the stigma.

There is absolutely no shame in getting help. Read that again. And again and again until it sinks in.

Love,
Amy

*Had myself a good ole cry I didn’t even know I needed until it came rushing out like a broken fire hydrant.

Excellent advice for all. People don't need to be fixed, they need to be heard.

Being present is helpful. Sometimes people don't need solutions, and they don't want to hear about your experiences. Practice just holding space for people without telling them what's best.

It's not easy seeing someone in pain. And it's not helpful showing up for people in a way that harms them even further.
