How It Happened

I have 3 wonderful boys-2 young men that live in Florida and one 9 year old that lives with me. On one of our visits to Florida, I noticed this sign that looked like a faded Pepsi sign. I had to check it out. It was a salt room. I did some research and on my next trip we went in to look around.

Previously...My then 8 year old had been diagnosed with allergies and slight asthma. From the age of 5 it started. He was on a pill in the morning, then a pill at night, then they added a steroid spray. Then the inhaler and the machine to do treatments at home when needed. Every time we went to the doctor I told her he was still stuffy and slightly congested and not getting any better. By this time he was on 5 different medications. I was very frustrated and he was not getting better. Luckily, his doctor changed and this new blessing from God sent him to the allergist and also prescribed an antibiotic for atypical infections. On day 2 of this antibiotic I could see he was getting better. After the allergist did the “scratches”- don’t let them fool you- they are pricks -all over my little ones back, they tell me he’s not allergic to anything! Ummm. What? I was very confused. And mad. And frustrated.

Back to Florida-We went into this wonderful playroom that had pink Himalayan salt all over the floor, with a dollhouse, a small picnic table, trucks, buckets-lots of toys! We did a salt session. I worked a puzzle and my son just played around in the salt. At first, he didn’t want to go- but then he didn’t want to leave!

It was about that time I had an epiphany. Maybe he’s allergic to something he’s EATING! (That began another journey.) I decided right then and there-NO MORE MEDICATIONS! He stopped taking all his meds and actually started showing improvement! He has not had a sick visit to the doctor since.
