We use assisted pull ups in the clinic often at AMP and the two most common mistakes we see are:
1: Relying too much on the lower body to start the motion.
2: Not fully extending the elbows at the bottom.

Pull ups are hard! We are experts when it comes to modifying movements to build strength and technique. The assisted pull up from the ground is one of our go to’s when working with our older adults and our youth athletes.

If you are doing them right, 5-8 reps should feel very difficult!

I love getting to explain the “why” behind the exercises we give our clients. But sometimes, there’s just no explanation needed.

We made full use out of our snow day here in Clemson. Thankful for the opportunity to slow down and catch some snowflakes.

Popular opinion: music can make a session.

We jammed to MJ for our 1:1 session together and it may have been the most productive session to date! Pushing intensity and building confidence are two of our goals in every session, especially when working with someone who has a history of pain with exercise. Not only are we improving physically but mentally as well! That is the recipe for lifelong wellness!
