✨ Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or related field
• CTRS (or eligible to sit for NCTRC exam) ([Teal][1])
• Knowledge of behavioral health settings and regulatory standards preferred ([Teal][1])
• CPR certification and strong clinical/communication skills

✨ Highlights:
• Facilitate therapeutic recreation and expressive therapy groups for patients across the lifespan
• Work in an inpatient behavioral health setting supporting mental health and substance use recovery
• Help patients build coping skills, emotional regulation, and social engagement through leisure
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team in a structured hospital environment

PRTM 3910: Introduction to Child Life will be offered during Summer II 2026! 👶

This 3-credit course will be fully online, featuring a mix of asynchronous learning and scheduled synchronous class sessions (dates/times shared at the start of the semester).

The course will be taught by Taylor Windell, a Certified Child Life Specialist at Prisma Health Children's Hospital – Upstate, who leads Child Life & Special Programs. Students will explore the Child Life profession, therapeutic play, and ways to support children and families navigating the social, emotional, and physical impact of hospitalization. 💜🧡
