In honor of Mental awareness month, Pathways To Revelation want you to know, you don’t have to do it alone. We know that mental typically is known as the silent killer. It kills hopes, dreams, it leaves one feeling hopeless, alone, depressed, anxious, worried, and worthless. It often has those around fooled by your smiles, stylish appearances, and personalities.

We want you to know that finding a professional to assist you through your difficult situations or concerns, no matter big or small can lead you toward a life you can manage. At Pathways to Revelation, we don’t say fix because the goal is to heal those broken parts within, so we adopted saying manage; as we want you to gain confidence, healing, and control of your new normal. Life can be hard but remember you are not a burden, you are a person!

It’s okay to voice when something or someone triggers you.

It is important to know that there is a difference between your emotions and your feelings. A few things I express to clients are ⬇️

Emotions typically are short in duration with high intensity levels (at times) and are caused be external stimuli and can lead to immediate reactions, such as fight or flight response.

Feelings differ a bit. Feelings are typically are moderate in duration (last for minutes) as well as moderate intensity levels. Feelings are caused by a mental reaction to emotions and the effects decision making skills, learning, memory, perceptions, attitudes, and intention.

Ways to manage emotions and feelings are by utilizing some of the following interventions:

•Meditation
•Positive Self-talk
•Cognitive Restructuring (Shifting your focus)
•Exercises (Physical Activity)
•Prioritize Self care

Living with mental health is hard, but trying to understand it, is even harder. It’s also 100 times harder, if you have another condition on top of this or substance abuse diagnosis.

Don't suffer in silence.
Mental health is just as important as physical health.
Be part of the healing.
Be understanding.
