Reflexes are present before birth until about one year of age!

Each one plays a crucial role in development. From taking your first breath to pushing up through your hands, crawling, and eventually walking

Sometimes one or more reflexes don’t fully integrate. Signs that a reflex may still be present include emotional disregulation, sensory sensitivities, hyperactivity, difficulty with coordination, or challenges with reading and writing.

A pediatric physical or occupational therapist can design play-based exercises to help those reflexes integrate. Kids often don’t even realize they’re “working,” they’re just having fun!
