You’ve gotten the massages. Maybe PT. Maybe chiro.
And it helps — for a day or two.
Then the tension comes back, exactly where it always lives.
Here’s what most people don’t know:
Muscles don’t hold tension on their own.
Your nervous system does.
And the fascial system — the connective tissue web that wraps every muscle, bone, and organ — responds to that tension by thickening, pulling, and bracing.
Massage works on the muscle.
Rolfing works on the whole system.
It’s not about releasing a knot.
It’s about changing the relationship between your body and gravity — so the tension doesn’t have a reason to come back.
That’s a different conversation entirely.
→ If you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, it might be time to find a Rolfer near you.
